Off Topic / The youtube html5 player got an update

It doesn't show up in chrome for some reason. Strange.

Everything is different. Better loading animations, better menus, and they fixed the progress bar! Now it doesn't have to reload parts of the video you already have loaded.

It's awesome.

Off Topic / Git on Windows?

So, I want to use Git on Windows. Should I use the Linux version in Cygwin, or should I use the Windows version available at http://git-scm.com/download ?
To my knowledge, the Windows version of Git on the website uses a GUI and something called "Git Bash" which is bash to be run on Windows. (maybe using MinGW)

Which one should I choose? Does this choice even matter?

On my new Windows 8 laptop I was messing around with the boot options and I accidentally deleted the Windows 8.1 boot option. Woops.

Anyway, I can fix this if I can just get back into Windows. Anyone know how to do that without Windows Boot Manager?

Help / My brother cannot launch Blockland.

My little brother has the demo version of BL and he told me the launcher wouldn't work.

I took a look at it and when I attempted to launch BL I got an error that said to make sure ~\Documents\Blockland was writable.

I looked at the folder's properties and unchecked the read-only option and clicked apply, but when I reopened the properties it was read-only again.

Anyone else have this problem?

Off Topic / I got a new laptop!

It's a Lenovo Z50. It was an early christmas present. Consider that before you tell me how bad it is.

Regardless of how bad it may seem to you, my previous laptop was a Compaq from 2007 so this is a huge upgrade for me.

It is currently the only computer in my house with dedicated graphics. We have like six stuffty old laptops and this one shiny new one.

And now I can finally dual boot Windows 8.1 with Arch. Yay.

Discuss huge improvements to things you own. new hardware.

Off Topic / Python help?

I'm trying to make a GTK Google Drive client in Python 3.

Gdata is a client library that allows for use of Google APIs, but it only works with Python 2.

I need to use Python 3 because I am using GTK 3.

Does anyone know of a Python 3 module that allows for Google Drive access?
