The problem is it goes against what GNU/Linux is supposed to be: a free and open source operating system. If that proprietary program breaks, adds or removes features, you're at the mercy of the developers, especially if that proprietary program is a driver (nVidia drivers, Catalyst, etc). If a free/open program breaks or changes features, you can fix it or the community can. There's also other issues like privacy and such which I don't really care all that much about, but there are others that do care about privacy.I feel like GNU/Linux is supposed to be whatever the user wants it to be. And I want it to be an operating system with huge software repositories with everything that you could ever need.
