I made this thread asking for suggestions of what programs other than malwarebytes i should try in case that didn't work. I didn't even think until now to boot into safe mode and try it.

If you aren't an idiot no OS will get a virus. Stop running handicapped .exe files, we know it was actually you

1. I have my own computer that doesn't have Windows. I'm trying to fix my dad's computer, which everyone else uses.
2. I wouldn't just google a download for a game and then find an exe file from a random website.

Someone who was on my family's computer downloaded a file called simcity2000dos-setup.exe and ran it. Now it's filled with all sorts of stuff. Adware, browser hijackers, viruses, etc. I'm going to try to do a full scan with malwarebytes, but I know that it won't get it all. Any suggestions on what programs I should use to get rid of all of it?

All this and I still can't convince them to switch to Linux.
Note to self: Don't ever mention Linux unless people are already talking about it.
