I don't like the idea of removing traditional vehicles all together.

General Discussion / Re: What's going to happen to the "Maps" forum?
« on: February 06, 2012, 04:53:33 PM »
It won't be gone, slate edits, waterblocks, skyboxes and .dts objects still exist.

2750
I was about to respond to that too, I hope so, possibly with a custom format or something with a conversion tool.

What about JVS Doors? Will their shapes have shadows on them too?

And what happens to builds with enclosed spaces loaded on maps with colored lighting? Do their insides go pitch black if they have no lights even though there is light outside them?
The dts objects will cast shadows.

Suggestions & Requests / Re: Terrain - Better
« on: February 06, 2012, 04:37:57 PM »
Who would sacrifice a feature that impacts how the game is played for some shiny special effects. Who?? I mean seriously, I would rather have them waste 18 months to re-code Blockland for the Torque 3D Engine to find out they are removing terrain. If they update the engine instead, they will be able to support both Terrain and Shadows. In 2010, v19 was released, in 2011 they released v20, in the same month v19 was released. That's almost 18 months....engine update could have been halfway done.

I am though excited for the new shaders, I don't hate them or anything. I just hope in the future they update the game engine or else Blockland is not going to receive any revenue.
bricks are a custom format bonehead just upgrading won't work

I was a bit upset, but you can't be one of those people that get mad at change. I'm excited.

HOWEVER

Interiors can look hot too:

General Discussion / Re: Post maps you will miss

I'm just upset at all the maps I hadn't gotten around to releasing. I might do a dump. Tranquility I will miss dearly. I'll always remember those moments first finding the secrets in gsf maps, bedroom and kitchen.

Now we'll only have boring slate retextures. What have graphics done to gamers.
Actually, I'm thinking that some interesting ideas could be pulled off with .dts objects.

2756
Ok, so the maps board will remain with slate edits, .dts objects can still stay in maps, lights and emitters can still stay in maps, waterblocks (not the brick) will remain in place. Correct?

2757
This Update + Adjustable slate = End of Maps
.dts objects

2758
how did you get that
His post seemed to claim that there would be no waterblocks, it would be a brick,

2759
Probably the same as they do above water because water is a brick now anyways.
Really? Even killing off waterblocks?

2760
I'd be willing to wait 3 more years for both.
