Off Topic / 2 hours til basic
« on: April 09, 2014, 07:53:08 AM »
I'm heading to Columbia in two hours to get processed and shipped off to Navy basic training, which will last about 9 weeks. Didn't sleep at all last night because I was up all night being super scared and excited.

I'm going to miss you guys, but I'll be back in 9 weeks. D:

In the meantime, AMA.

Off Topic / weird internet problems
« on: January 18, 2014, 06:08:53 PM »
i've been having some rage-inducing internet connection issues lately. like i'll be in the middle of a game with a relatively-stable 100 ping, and then it'll shoot up to like 4000ms for a few seconds and often i'll d/c altogether. then afterwards im stuck in a sort of limbo of around 500-800 ping and im constantly getting dc'd for sometimes as long as 20 minutes. anyone know what could be the cause of this? im like 99% sure its not my connection to the router because it's pretty stable at around 1ms or 2ms of latency at all times.

Off Topic / Lillymu Mercenary Co. needs pilots (need mor stealth PILET)
« on: December 01, 2013, 11:40:42 AM »
Alright so if any of you are familiar with Starmade you know that it's kind of like Minecraft in space with epic ship-to-ship combat. Me and Comr4de run a small faction on one of the biggest multiplayer servers, and we've recently received a huge contract to take out one of the biggest shipyards on the server this Saturday. defeat the borg collective pirate faction that's been terrorizing their fleet. Free the galaxy from the evil Emperor Zerg.

NEWS:
The new experimental Whisper-class frigate had a field test today. Many enemies were slain, many ships were blown up, and an LMC pilot lost his life in the name of science! (P19)

The Pandan and the Oedipus set sail this morning to lay waste to the homebase of the Equestrian Sentinels. Needless to say, everything was wiped out and salvaged to serve our fleet. (P18)

The LMC have developed an experimental and wonderfully nefarious weapon of destruction. (P17)

The borg struck back at the Calderon Republic, completely obliterating their base of operations and scattering their faction to the wind. (Cont p16.)

The Magiliene, Gustav Max and the Fire Lilly set sail for the Borg's base of operation and ended up torching everything in sight! Without a single casualty on our end, this was certainly a profound victory. (Cont p16.)

The LMC have adopted the ARES Veldertof-class "Gilbratar" frigate to combat the Borg's hyper advanced radar jamming ships. It's a considerably powerful, highly maneuverable vessel with enough fire power to keep up with and destroy a Borg death cube.

Pilots must now be certified by Comr4de before being issued a warship. Simply attend a training session, pass a basic exam and you'll be ready for combat!

Certified pilots should make a new request in this thread for their ship and ship name. Ships will be requisitioned based on the funds available and the activity of the pilot.

The Fire Lilly was erroneously classified as a frigate. It's been corrected and is now accurately placed in the Cruiser class.

If you're interested in flying, download the game at http://star-made.org/download , create a forum account on the website (which you'll use as your in-game login) and let me know when you're free for a combat tutorial.

Hope you end up flying with us!

Drama / Lukas "Okiver" Larsen - Master Hacker
« on: November 08, 2013, 04:59:20 AM »

Lukas "Okiver" Larsen, Master Hacker

Many of you might be wondering why the forum has been having a bit of downtime, and some of you might've noticed that RTB has been completely down for the last couple of days. You can thank Mr. Larsen (pictured above) for that.

For those of you who don't know, Okiver joined the forums in 2011 pretending to be a girl named "Camilla." He didn't do anything really wrong besides that at first. He hosted a Minecraft server or clan or something unimportant, and then he started to get involved in handicap-level hacking shenanigans. It was mostly just things like aimbotting and wallhacking vidya games, but he was eventually involved in stupid hacker communities like:

illusion-hacks

hack forums

x22cheats

Even with Okiver's obsession with being a 1337 hacker, he was never able to successfully hack the forum or anything that really mattered. He resorted on several occasions to pay botnet owners to DDoS servers he didn't like, and to even shut down the Blockland Forums for nearly 60 seconds on a few occasions. He'd distribute RATs for real hackers and he'd use stolen credit cards to buy Steam games and Blockland keys. Basically he was a gigantic friend.

Then he returned on alt, "Ellinia," and began spreading RATs and malware again.

And here we are again, almost a year later and he has RTB and its entire hosting provider kicked offline by the botnet he's paying for. He's continually trying to DDoS the forums, and there's been no indication that the rest of his criminal behavior has changed at all.

Below is the personal information pertaining to Okiver. The information isn't for the purpose of internet vigilantism. If you have any evidence at all that Okiver RAT'd you or DDoS'd a server or service you own, report it to the proper authorities. These are real crimes, and without the guise of anonymity to hide behind, Lukas Larsen won't feel as comfortable breaking the law.

anyone else have trouble falling asleep if they don't do a little extra something? it's kind of become a bit of a bed-time ritual and it's rare for me to go to bed alone without a little single player beforehand.
