But apparently, MLP is a social movement and needs everyone to know that they watch the show. Or, even more likely, it's a bandwagon. You wouldn't do this to other shows, but it has to be MLP specifically. So, to make a long story short it's a bandwagon fad that will pass eventually.
By the way, show sucks. I watched it and got bored.
Friendship is Magic isn't just a show, it's a phenomenon. After you've watched every episode, there exists a huge community of fans that keeps the experience from ending. You have plushies, figures, toys, fan videos, fan fiction, games, clans, projects, rp projects, a metric-forgetload of fanart, fan music, extremely active fan discussions everywhere. Its fandom is just a result of how much in love it's fans are with the show, it's because of the fans that it has the ability to remain prevalent and active even in the months where no new episodes are being produced or aired.
For those that really dislike the fandom, its unfortunate that it's creators, Lauren Faust and Hasbro in general, recognizes its fanbase to the point where they're adopting fanon (DJ Pon-3, Bronies) into the show's actual canon. So not only is the show adored by a countless number of fans, but its producers are going out of their way to appeal to the internet fanbase made up of males over sixteen-years-old. The producers have shown their support, the fans show their support through the massive amount of media they produce to keep the show alive, so theres a reciprocal relationship between the two. The entire MLP craze can actually be compared to something like those Starwars, Star Trek, or Lord of the Rings.
The adoration for the show will eventually die down, but there will always be fans out there.
I love how this topic was Tony's to start with, and it ended with him getting banned.
Tony was kind of cool until he turned into a massive friend. If you reread the OP out loud it's loving hysterical.
