Yes, because undeveloped children can make decisions.

Because children can make decisions-

Oh wait, children can't make legal decisions. Maybe abortion should be extended until the child turns 18.

When a baby is born, it becomes a human. It has become independent of the mother and has begun learning.

When a baby is conceived it becomes a human. It has begun development of it's critical body systems that will one day be another vessel for another mind. It is well on its way to cognitive development and complex thought.

B. Billions of "potential" lives are killed every day in a fun activity called "procrastination". Every one of those cells had a chance at living life but they died instead. Oh no!

This is such a stupid argument. Spilling paint =/= vandalizing The Last Supper by Leonardo de Vinci

Now burning the the painting halfway through painting it...

What is wrong with it?

It's unfortunate to say the least, but I think the producers for this knew the song was stuffty.

They purposefully took an old stuffty song and made it stufftier by using some whore that nobody has ever loving heard of, who also can't sing for stuff mind you, and then to make matters worse, they insist on giving it an even stufftier video.

The internet feeds off of stuff like this, do you see how many views these videos are getting? Seriously, it's all just a loving scam for publicity. I guarantee that within a month, this is going to be like a loving cult following.

>Implying Bob Dylan ACTUALLY wrote this song.

>Implying it had producers

>Implying a 13-year-old is pulling a publicity scam

Looking at it from a philosophical utilitarian standpoint, that life is worthless because it isn't developed or sentient.

Utilitarians are known for great things like genocide and suppression of human rights, go you.

The cellular structure isn't exactly independent. Is an Egg a chicken? No, it's not.
From a logical standpoint, it's also still not a human. It doesn't have any of the components of being a human being aside from some genetic code and basic stem cells. It has the potential to become a human. It isn't a human yet.

A baby isn't a human, it's a hardly a neophyte, it has the potential to become a human.

It would put a lot less strain on the system for unwanted children. There are children born everywhere at any given time, so there won't be an impact.

If I was aborted, I really don't think it would have mattered. Everything in the world is based on chance and things just happen. The lack of existence of one child doesn't mean very much.

"If they're going to die they'd better do it, and decrease the surplus population."

It's their child and they should have the say in whether they want to go through the pain of delivering it or not.

...and not the child whose life is at stake?

A human :cookieMonster:

Looking at it from a standpoint of pure logic and technicality, that is indeed a human being.

But sperm isn't really capable of sentient or cognitive thought. Is sperm a baby?

So, if I purposely kill sperm cells, I am killing a baby because it is a baby that is technically "less developed"?

Sperm is no more a human being than white blood cells, it's merely a vessel for carrying the material that creates a human. Once the sperm carrying the genetic material combine with the genetic material stored in an egg, the DNA sequences combine and create a human being with it's own unique genetic code, also known as conception.

Edited a little bit.

You still didn't fix it...

Because that indicates brain activity.

But it doesn't have one yet, it certainly will eventually, just as babies aren't really capable of sentient, cognitive thought for year after birth. It doesn't mean the baby is less human because it's less developed, it just means it's just that, less developed.

I completely agree with Kalphiter, according to you Stocking , this theory is correct.Do an Egg and a Sperm NOT make a human?

The baby isn't considered by most as a human until it at least has the ability to think/preform some action, Ex: Kicking.

...and what is the real difference between that and what happens in the development of the child? It's still just a series of chemical reactions that propel us from inception into old age and death, why does it matter whether or not they're able to do something completely arbitrary like move a limb to become human?

Certainly a sperm and an egg are two halves of an immature being?

Well forgive the lazy brown townogy, but that's like saying two halves of a Rolls Royce are equal to that of an intact Rolls Royce...
