All I know is that my restaurant is privately owned by one person but they follow the regulations of the franchise itself.

that's the definition of a franchisee

there is no such thing as a 'private' mcdonalds as a opposed to a regular mcdonalds. all mcdonalds are privately owned but report to a franchise.

The only good thing from it is the food was decent and they were nice enough to walk across the parking lot, up a hill, and to our van that was at a auto-zone getting more coolant/antifreeze. (I forgot which)

okay, so your van got really hot from idling, but why the hell would you drive to autozone to get more coolant? did your radiator suddenly spring a leak in the drive thru?

Hey-o, you tied Atlas and I. You looking at MIT?

no im just going to enlist in the navy. if youre a nuclear engineer there's a $60,000 signing bonus, plus you get a free trade degree in nuclear engineering and you graduate nuke school as an E-5. most poeple get all the way to E-6 by the end of their 6-year enlistment and then if you re-enlist for 4 more years, there's a $150,000 signing bonus and a guaranteed promotion.

so like, at the end of 10 years if i stay in, i'll have made almost 3 quarters of a million dollars and i'll have a degree and a stuffload of job experience. i could go into a civilian job as a nuclear engineer, which is an extremely fast-growing job sector and most of them start at 6 digit salaries. or i could go back into the military as an officer and i'd start at O-3.

i'm really excited lol

Other people will take the case for you. All you have to do is report it.

sonic is a corporation with like a million billion dollars and just as many lawyers on retainer. any lawsuit against a sonic store is handled by the sonic corporation.

They are criminals. If you don't file the case, it's your fault.

Research the employer's violations here; http://www.dol.gov/opa/aboutdol/lawsprog.htm

http://www.dol.gov/dol/contact/
Call their line during the proper hours, and ask how you can take your case further.

Except I don't want the stress of trying to press a legal case against somebody when i've got other things i need to do

Well if half the stuff you claimed to be illegal really is, you could sue them, or at least get those things forcibly changed by government people.

we failed a DHEC inspection, and they said they would come back in like two weeks and if the store wasnt like perfect we'd get shut down. i remember the DHEC inspector had a long list of stuff he wanted fixed, and one of them was about how he wanted the grease that was caked onto the wall cleaned, and he wanted all the mold bleached off of the wall

instead of dealing with any of that, our GM paid his uncle $100 to paint the walls of the store until it looked like it was cleaned.

long story short: the government doesnt do stuff

to me it sounds like getting fired was a gift
you haven't really expressed your opinion about it so far either

im really happy to be honest, i didnt have the balls to quit on my own. i have enough savings to live off of until i ship off to basic training for the Navy and now i can spend my free time working out and hanging with my friends.

i got a 99th percentile on my asfvap and im going into nuclear engineering. ^^

>take to court
>get money from winning case (they'll open an investigation)
>???
>profit

>implying the store hasnt been sued like 20 times so far
>implying the store ever lost any of those lawsuits

It wasn't a mistake, it was her denying the request of a superior. While I do agree her being fired on the spot is really harsh, and I also agree with what you also said, I think she kind of deserved it. They may be more to this, as you said.

the treatment of employees at that store is absolutely criminal, here's a small list of things that are forgeted up:

1. i work 5-6 days a week, 8 or 11 hour shifts. i havent had a (federally mandated) 30-minute break in almost a year. people never get breaks, and its absolutely illegal to make an employee work more than 4 hours without a 30 minute break, or more than 6 hours without an hour-long break.

2. if you get tipped it comes out of your check, no exceptions. no other job i've ever worked deducts tips from your pay.

3. the store equipment is awful an outdated. screens are hard to read, the blenders for the milkshakes electrocute you if your hands are wet (all the time), and the grease trap leaks grease all over the floor, all day long. the credit card machines are from like the 80s and crash every other day and they glitch from time to time, and the store expects you to make up credit-card machine's mistakes with your own pay. BUT, the general manager spent $3000 on a new surveillance system that only monitors the inside of the store, you know, where customers aren't even allowed. so rather than spending money on decent equipment for the employees to use, it all goes to surveillance equipment to make sure the employees dont mess up

4. two carhops have gotten robbed while i was working so far, both girls had the money they lost sequestrated from their paychecks

5. i am really, really good at my job. but instead of getting a raise, the manager in charge of the schedule puts me down for jobs that require 2 people because it saves him money. so basically because i spent my first 3 years here working really hard and getting a really good name for myself, i have to work twice as hard without any increase in pay. most people dont even say anything to me when i really mess up because they know they couldnt handle half the stuff i'm under at that store

6. full time hours in south carolina is 35 or more per week. full time employees must, by law, recieve insurance benefits. i work 40 or more per week, like most of the employees, but nobody is allowed to be considered "full time" because it would cost the store money.

7. a girl broke her kneecap while skating on the parking lot because the store didn't order kneepads for her, because they wanted to save money. she asked the general manager for workman's compensation because she was injured on the job, and it was their fault. he told her "if you try to file for workman's comp, that'll be the last bit of money you ever get from me"

8. when i started working, employees received a 50% discount on food. now that discount has since been eliminated because it cost the store money.

with all the loving awful stuff i'm subjected to for 40 hours or more every week, i don't see why i should have to do somebody else's job to appease the shift manager's ego

our general manager stopped ordering latex gloves to save money (which is a DHEC voilation) and today one of the assistant managers told me to take out the trash

1. trash is not my job
2. i'd never even touch those trash cans outside without latex gloves, which we had none of
3. managers cant make you do something you arent responsible for

i told the assistant manager no i wasnt going to do the trash and she fired me for it lol

i mean i've done the trash before to make the cooks' jobs easier, but like the store buys the cheapest trash bags possible so they always have holes in them, and there's always something leaking out and running all over the bag. like loving day-old milk or food that's been dissolving in soda all day
