I had actually done it before but I accidentally knocked it down in the process of building another room. I was actually putting the painting in the bottom left corner but I have since then succeeded. Weird.
That is how you can have bigger paintings.
Do it at the bottom and it refuses to take a bigger painting evin if your wall is 30x30.

Notch REALLY needs to fix the way paintings work. I just spent ten god damn minutes putting a painting on the wall and taking it down trying to get a specif one. I still have no succeeded. Why did Notch think having it just use a random painting was a good idea?
