Help / Internet drops while playing Blockland

I'm not saying this is specifically a blockland problem, but when I join and spawn in a server, I get heavy lag then it just drops completely. I can tell by the light on my modem above me (The "Online" LED goes out, it's a pretty old modem, a Zoom model 5241, but it only started doing this a few days ago). I quit blockland, and after a while it goes back up. I'm using Comcast cable, not sure about anything regarding the plan. I've tried resetting it, power cycling it, everything. It is a hardwired connection to my Linksys E1000 router, then over to my modem. This doesn't happen with any other game, and has not happened before.

Like in most FPS games, after you die you can go around spectating other players from different points of view. This addition would allow you to spectate in first person, just as the player you are spectating sees. Hitting spacebar in spectate mode, in Slayer, allows you to change between free-cam and third person, adding first person in there would make it a rotation between the 3 views.

'67 Pontiac Firebird, this is not my car, but same make, model, and color as my everyday rider.

Original Pontiac 326 with EZ-EFI Fuel-Injection, MSD H.I.E Ignition, Hotchkis TVS, Flowmaster Exhaust kit, 2-Speed Powerglide transmission (we want to put a manual in it, but all the modifying would decrease the value of the car as a whole).

I use Chrome on my iphone, and if I'm not on the forums for like an hour, I come back and have to sign in again. I do have the checkbox marked where you stay signed in.

Suggestions & Requests / Multiple-Driver Vehicles

Basically have 2-seat vehicles where like, someone operates the throttle and brake, while the other person steers.

You could also have a vehicle where the seats are back-to-back, one person faces forward, the other one faces backwards. The person facing forwards controls the steering in the front axle (as well as throttle and brake control), while the person in the back controls the steering in the rear axle (and shoots some dudes in like a death race or whatever).

In a death race it'd basically be about teamwork. For the first vehicle, the person controlling the steering would basically have the job of being as stable as possible so the throttleman could aim and shoot people effectively. For the second vehicle, when both axle's wheels are turned in the same direction, you could thus turn more sharply, giving you an advantage in tight turns granted you use your teamwork properly.

When I try to event a brick to say
Code: [Select]
OnMinigameReset > Self > SetColliding [ ]and I wrench the brick again, the event line disappears.

If I use another input event, such as
Code: [Select]
OnActivate > Self > SetColliding []and I wrench the brick again, the event line stays in place.

SetColliding is the only event in the list that does this to OnMinigameReset, and vice versa.

I've been forced to use a setup like this:
Code: [Select]
OnMinigameReset > Self > fireRelay
OnRelay > Target > Output

but I shouldn't have to. Why does this happen?

Hockey Mod

The Hockey Mod, scripted by Aide33 and models by Demian, includes 4 items, listed in detail below.

  • Ice Skates - These skates, when attached, allow the player to glide along surfaces, and skate side-to-side with ease as they accelerate and decelerate. To "shave the ice", or stop quickly, press space-bar. Goalies will have a special type of skates that have the same movement as the regular blockland player.
  • Puck - The game puck is designed to glide along surfaces and boards for easier passing and more realistic gameplay. Players can pick up the puck by skating over it with their player or click it using the paintcan button in the minigame.
  • Player Stick - The player stick is a bit more complicated than the other items. If the player does not control the puck, than his only option is to try and steal it from another player by clicking (when this happens, the puck comes loose. It does not automatically attach to the interfering player's stick). When the player does have control of the puck, he has 2 options: shoot, or pass. Shooting the puck (left-clicking) will have the player take a slap shot and, depending on the player's view height, the puck can lift into the air. Passing the puck (right-clicking) will lightly shoot the puck in the direction that the player is facing in, without going air-born.
  • Goalie Stick - Goalies can use their custom stick to hold the puck without fear of it getting interfered with by another player, or they can choose to pass.

Rules / Penalties

Rules:

  • Each game will consist of 3, 8-minute periods with 2-minute intermissions between each. If the game is tied after 3 periods, a sudden-death 5-minute overtime period will be applied. If the game is still tied after that, players will take turns in a shootout, where if one team scores and the other team does not respond, that team will win.
  • Teams will get 3, 1 minute timeouts to use anytime the clock is stopped.
  • Every time the whistle is blown, players must stop play immediately. Failure to do so could result in a penalty.
  • Players are allowed to approach a referee or the judge's box while the clock is stopped and ask about a certain event (e.g. penalty, ruling, goal, etc). Players are not allowed to argue a call, only ask for clarification.
  • If you have the feeling that one of your teammates will not be able to make every game, please notify me ahead of time so you can choose another substitute player to be apart of your team as well. Your team is limited to 2 substitute players.

Penalties:

  • Off-sides - There is only 1 important line on the ice that players need to worry about, and that is the center line (red). You cannot pass the puck over this line into your offensive zone to another teammate, period. If the player receives the illegal pass, play will be stopped and a faceoff will take place in the penalized team's defensive zone. You must carry the puck over the red line. The location of your teammate does not matter, you just cannot pass it over the line to him. This prevents excessive camping and unfair gameplay.
  • Delay of Game - taking an extended amount of time to get the puck out of your defensive zone while controlling the puck to intentionally run the clock down. A face-off will occur in the opposite zone that the penalty was committed in. Taking the puck and intentionally shooting it out of play into the stands or player benches is also constituted as delay of game.



Bracket System

There will be 2 Divisions in this tournament. Each division will have 2 teams, the winner of the best 2 out of 3 series will move on to the championships, for another best 2 out of 3 series against the other division winner.

Don't ask questions, I just need it

Since I'm too unintelligent to know how to do this, could someone possibly edit the Small Vehicle Spawn brick pack on RTB to have the 2x2 vehicle spawn turned into a 1x1? I don't care about the name change or anything, I just need the brick to work. I have these 3x2 seats and I need a bot to sit in the middle of them.

General Discussion / In-game Server Switch Keybind lost?

I used to have my \ key set to pop up the in-game server switch menu so I could switch servers while in a server, which was one of the most useful tools that I had. Since the last update, or around that time, it stopped working. When I try to rebind the \ key, it says " "backslash" is already bound to a non-remappable command!"

I also do not see where on the keybind list this in-game server switch mod is. Does anyone know the name of this mod or why this happened?

Blockland Hockey Mod

Players, while wearing the skates, should be able to glide, and acceleration should be pretty gradual with the top speed about the speed of jetting while on the ground going forward. Hitting jump should also bring you to a complete stop (if this is possible).

To shoot the puck, you should left-click. When you shoot, the puck should rise up into the air depending on the height of the player's view (similar to the soccer ball). In other words, if I shoot and I'm aiming high up, the puck should rise to about the height of a blockhead over about an 8-stud length. Aiming low should have it just glide on the ice. Right click would have you "pass" the puck, in whatever direction you were facing in. The puck should slide across surfaces, and come to a slow stop. When a player comes in contact with a puck, the puck should then "attach" to his stick, and follow the player around on the end of this stick (mounted, I guess?) until he passes or shoots or gets interfered with. An opposing player can steal the puck by slashing his stick at another player's by clicking the player (it should work similarly to the way basketball stealing works, the puck should come loose when taken away, not immediately put on the other player's stick) - (a player can only slash if he is not controlling a puck, slashing is used by clicking as well as shooting).

I guess as a bonus, there should be 2 types of sticks: a left handed and a right handed. Maybe you can differentiate them by having the left handed have a blue stripe on it, and the right handed have a red stripe. Then the left-handed stick should be held with the left hand on bottom, and the right-handed stick should be held with the right hand on bottom. The player should hold the hockey stick with both hands, like so:

Help / onMinigameReset not working? Default event broken?

When I leave my server, onMinigameReset does not work; it only works when I am in the server.

Can someone release a fix for this? I will gladly post a console.log of my RTB Dedicated Server if need be.

This Third-Person-only playertype would have a camera that viewed the player in only one fixed direction.

This playertype can be found in games such as Paper Mario, here is a good example of what I mean:

As you can see, you never view certain aspects of the map, you only see it in one direction. The player can move in any direction without the camera changing its view of the player. Basically, if the player jumps the camera will move up. If the player moves left, right, forward, back, rotates/turns in either direction, the camera will remain in a fixed view, but the camera will still follow the player around wherever it goes.

1. Is this possible?

How dare Badspot leave out the good ole' Canadian sport.

We need, first off, Ice Skates that are similar to the skis. They don't have to be dead accurate or huge, just make them blocko-style so it fits with the rest of the game. I don't know how the skis should be animated or if they should be animated at all. Players, while wearing the skates, should be able to jump a small height of maybe 1 stud, and have a delay for jumping of about 1 second.

Next would come hockey sticks and a puck. To shoot the puck, you would click. Right click would have you "pass" the puck, in whatever direction you were facing in. Suggestions & Requests / Save Folders

Basically an addition to the Save/Load GUI where you can create folders and move saves around to different folders, like before with the maps, only with custom made folders. This would make the save GUI much more organized.

If you were to view your saves folder outside of Blockland, you would see that inside would be no saves, just folders, and within those folders would be your saves. The names of these folders would be the same names in the list of folders in-game.

Just a few ideas, but my saves folder is very cluttered, and I can only imagine what some of yours are like.
