Also Tool sucks. :D

I like Tool. But their lyrics are so pretentious that often times they come off as pseudo-intellectual. Wings for Marie/10000 Days and Eulogy both have very good lyrics though.

My little anime? o.o

Oh god it's like K-On!.

No.

Class of 2013 is where it's at. At least where I live, the class of 2014 and below are total brats. Their parents give them anything they ask for so they're all really spoiled and stupid.

I thought all grades thought that about the grade below them.

Edit: This is worth mentioning because Metalcore ruined Hardcore. That's the problem with punk and it's many offshoots, it just meant a different meaning back when it first came out (punk in the late 70s early 80s, Hardcore in the late 80s early 90s, Post Punk in the mid 90s) and now there's not so much need for that image I feel. Times are truly changing. I like to think I wear my bad brains jacket because it means a lot to me and not because Van's shoes bought licensing to sell their image along with MTV.

tl;dr I grew up with a generation that grew up Hardcore fans, not this 4th generation commercialized nonsense

Pretty much. Even though I myself missed the age of real hardcore, it doesn't take much to realize that most metal-core bands are a bunch of hot-topic posers in it for the money. They basically rip each other's sound off, and they look like emo-fairy boy friends while they do it.

But you can't understand the lyrics in any of the bands you posted, lol.

Anyways, thanks to Trifax and ultimately VerticalHorizon, I am now desensitized to Death Metal.

Holy stuff.

If you don't mind Death Metal that much, may I point you in the direction of...

Agalloch
Jesu
and Opeth

None of them are really Death Metal, but they are all heavy enough.

We came as romans is Screamo. Not just is it screamo, its christian screamo.

We Came As Romans aren't screamo at all. They're post-hardcore. Awful post-hardcore at that. Absolutely no originality.

People seem the think that Screamo is just anything with screams. That's not what it is AT ALL.

Mastodon is in no way progressive metal.

Try Between the Buried and Me, or The Contortionist.

They are totally prog, I don't know how you couldn't hear it. Sure there are a lot of sludge and standard heavy metal elements, but the prog is definitely there.

203
If you like prog at all, you may like The Mars Volta or Mastodon

204
Deftones. If you consider them "Nu Metal" they are the absolute best of the genre. One of my favorite bands ever.

Try some post-hardcore. You might like At the Drive In or Glassjaw.

U guys mad cus my favourite anime lady isn't loveual?

i so mad.

But honestly, aside from the fan-service Evangelion was infamous for way back when it was airing, Asuka wasn't really a character used for loveual purposes. She had her share of mental problems, like every character from NGE had, and It's true that she's probably one of the bitchiest anime characters ever, but that doesn't mean I don't absolutely adore her.

It's probably the German. Yeah, has to be the German
