Hardcore
Light hearted synth patterns, pulsing kick, pianos, and heavy sampling make hardcore one of the most popular genres played at oldschool raves.

DJ Paul Elstak - Rainbow in the Sky
Technohead - Banana-na-na (Phun Phactory Mix)
Nakatomi - Children of the Night

Gabber
Hardcore's evil twin. Distorted, dark kicks, 180 bpm, hard synth patterns, and an overall atmosphere of unrest.

Angerfist - Dance With The Wolves
Evil Activities & Neophyte - Murder
Neophyte - Braincracking

Will add. I don't really like the term hardcore being used as a genre for electronic music, since I always think of hardcore punk first, but whatever.

You acknowledged the post, but didn't bother reading it enough to gain context. Your fault.

Or maybe you could've chosen your words more carefully so it would've been easier to understand? The way you worded it made it really seem like a personal attack.

I'm not a fan of internet radio. I'd much rather scrobble and show everyone what I'm listening to with last.fm.

I prefer instrumental songs over songs with vocals

Do you like post-rock?

Idiot didn't read what we said.

Because reading every single post when you only have to read 2 to understand what this entire thread is about is so stupid.

Normally for a song to be Dubstep it has to have around 140 BPM.

Bwahahaha no way dude that's way to loving fast.

Actually I disagree with everything but the last, just because something has a low backround beat doesn't make it dubstep.

The beats in pretty much every song I posted are total dubstep, and the bass also fits the description. The only artists people actively argue against being dubstep is James Blake, but I think he is, he just has a loving unique super minimal style. And hell, Burial's Untrue is usually regarded as the best loving dubstep album of all time.

do you have dubstep completely wrong in the OP, or do I not know what dubstep is

Yeah I'm pretty sure what I posted is dubstep.

Dubstep wobbles.

Yeah but it's not as absolutely loving ridiculous as Brostep. Check out this track.

I take that back, THIS is a better example than my above track.

Give me some other example of Brostep besides skrillex since apparently you guys think Datsik is not dubstep. I need a reference if I'm going to see your point of view.

Basically anything that is WOBBLEWOBBLEWUBWUBWUB is brostep. Datsik fits the description quite nicely.

All I'm saying is that there is a huge difference between This and This

You're right, but just like with every other genre, each artist has an individual style. Skrillex isn't pure brostep either, but he's definitely NOT dubstep. And as much as I hate starting stuff, that Datsik track was complete brostep.

oh god why the forget argue about what a song is

i mean seriously it shouldn't loving matter as long as your ears are ejaculating

It's just a good way to classify music or describe it to someone new to a genre. People arguing about it is silly though.

Genre wars are hilarious.

In other news, more industrial is needed.

An electro industrial track from :wumpscut: So Good.
