Also no one in this thread knows what screamo or emo is. So have some actual screamo/emo.

Eh depends man. The best way of course is to buy and it and see if it really is stuffty. If it works it works, but if it's defective just send it back.

Actually, 90% of the crap in this thread is, well, crap. It's like nobody cares for artistic talent anymore.

Pretty much.

Drumstep

That's pretty awesome. I know of drumstep but haven't really listened to it.

How could you not include Pendulum in "Drum 'n' Bass"

Because Hold Your Colour is their only DnB album. Their newer stuff is definitely a lot different than actual Drum N Bass.

And I just didn't feel like posting anything from Hold Your Colour.

I've noticed people here enjoy electronic music. I, like many of you, do as well. ITT we will be talking about it. Listed below are some important subgenres.

IDM
IDM stands for intelligent dance music. Some important acts in the genre include Aphex Twin, Autechre (pictured at the top of thread), Boards of Canada, Squarepusher and Venetian Snares. It's a pretty complex genre of electronic music.

Squarepusher - Vic Acid
Autechre - Dael
Aphex Twin - Window Licker

Techno
Techno is a genre of electronic music that emerged out of Detroit Michigan. It is mainly a blend of early electronic music with soul, jazz etc. I don't really listen to it that much so that's really all I can say.

Hardfloor - Acperience 1

Industrial
Industrial is a type of electronic music that is generally very harsh sounding. Many fusion genres exist, such as industrial rock, metal and electro-industrial.

Coil - The brown town Staircase
Skinny Puppy - Testure
Nine Inch Nails - Mr. Self Destruct Many industrial purists don't consider NIN real industrial but I do.

House
Everyone knows what House is.

Daft Punk - Prime Time of Your Life
Justice - DVNO

I don't listen to much house which is why I posted entry level stuff.

Drum 'n' Bass
Drum 'n' Bass is characterized by fast breakbeats and heavy basslines. One of my favorite types of electronic music.

Goldie - Timeless
London Elektricity - Bare Religion
Roni Size - Snapshot

Dubstep
Heavy bass. Tight beats. No brostep please.

Skream - Hedd Banger
Burial - Archangel
James Blake - The Wilhelm Scream forget Yeah I just posted James Blake.
Digital Mystikz - Haunted

Ambient
Ambient music doesn't have to be restricted to electronic music, but a lot of it is. It's generally slow and a lot of people regard it as background music. I have found out if you take the time to pay attention to it it's greatly rewarding.

Eluvium - As I Drift Off
Stars of the Lid - Requiem for Dying Mothers
Tim Hecker - Hatred of Music

Trip-Hop
Fusion of Downtempo and Hip-Hop. One of my favorite types of electronic music.

Massive Attack - Inertia Creeps
Portishead - It Could Be Sweet
Aether - Rain or Shine
Unkle - Eye for an Eye

Jungle
From Stuntman021: The granddaddy of drum and bass. 140 bpm, reggae vocals, the amen break, and heavy bass combine to form pure magic.

Shy FX & UK Apachi - Original Nuttah
Omni Trio - Tripping On Broken Beats VIP

Hardcore Techno
Light hearted synth patterns, pulsing kick, pianos, and heavy sampling make hardcore one of the most popular genres played at oldschool raves.

DJ Paul Elstak - Rainbow in the Sky
Technohead - Banana-na-na (Phun Phactory Mix)
Nakatomi - Children of the Night

Gabber
Hardcore's evil twin. Distorted, dark kicks, 180 bpm, hard synth patterns, and an overall atmosphere of unrest.

Angerfist - Dance With The Wolves
Evil Activities & Neophyte - Murder
Neophyte - Braincracking

Other subgenres I don't feel like writing anything up for

Hip-Hop
Glitch-hop
Jazz-hop
Electro-pop
Synthpop
Trance
Noise
And a ton of other stuff

if this isn't a jokepost <3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3grind jazz

Why would I joke about something as serious as Post Avant Jazzcore? I actually know about music, I know who Naked City is and I know the difference between dubstep and brostep.

The fact I cannot understand what hes even saying just makes me think that the song would be better without the singer.

How can you not understand what he's saying. All you have to do is listen.

And don't say I'm thinking of the 'Wub Wub type'. There are not two type of dubstep as many of you claim.

There are more than two types of Dubstep. Just have a listen to James Blake. Not like any dubstep you've heard before is it?

RAP WITH SOUL.

Anyone who says the genre has no melody should listen to this stuff.

I knew it, I KNEW if I posted my opinion you people would stuff on it. So, why did I expect anything else?
I still do not like rap. It's talking with a beat, no real melody.

brother u need to find some good rap.

There is a lot more to it than talking over a beat.
