I would not attach myself to her emotionally, though that would be difficult. As hard it will be, if something happens to her, or myself, it'll be easier to move on and keep surviving by if there isn't a strong relationship.

I think it would turn out like me putting up a stone wall, then letting out emotions while I'm alone. Eventually she'd find out or something, what my tactic was, and hopefully she would see the logic in it.

This great little site simulates what a month on your last 1,000 bucks is like. You start with 1,000, and you have to make it through 30 days without going bankrupt. You have to deal with stuff like, picking a job, picking where to live, dealing with problems as they come, paying bills, buying groceries.

We had to do it in my Personal finance class, and I suggest you all do it legit the first time through, at least.

My record for finishing the month was around... $358 or so. Post how much you finish with!

What do I love, Trifax?  You tell me, because you seem to know.  Being flat broke is better than being with someone who only loves you for your salary.  Having a high-paying job only makes you vulnerable to women like that.  I plan on getting a degree in Animal Science.  I don't care if I don't own the nicest car or the hottest woman.  I care about doing what I love and you can't change that.

I don't know what you love (well, now I do, I guess). I'm not saying you have to have the nicest car and everything to be happy and that you should only live for that. It's that, when you have money, you have options. You can afford to fix your average car when some starfishs hits it. You can afford trips to the doctor when you're sick. You can afford to support your family (if you choose to have one).

If you don't have any money, instead of working on your degree in Animal Science, you would be busy with late fees, and, hell, lots of stuff that nobody should have to deal with.

As for the women issue, I guarantee it will be easily identifiable if a girl is just into you for your money. You have to keep an eye out for them if you do have money, and what kinda girl you have is up to your discretion. I'm not delving into that, because you simply have a very naive view of what comes with money.

I'm not trying to attack you here, Hydra. You seem unclear on that. I'm trying to tell you that getting your degree in Animal Science and doing what you love will be so much easier if you have money. Please take that the right way, once again, I'm not trying to attack you. I'm trying to get you out of that mindset of "I don't need money, I just need a dream!" because frankly: that's bullstuff. You can have a dream all you want, but you also have to have the work ethic to get that dream fulfilled, and you need income to fund your way. Because stuff happens, whether you want it to or not, and if you aren't prepared to get that stuff solved, you're going to fall back and never reach your dream. I want everyone to reach their dream, and do what they love. It makes people better. Including you.
