Lets say, if you stubbed your toe on the street, have you ever felt that feeling, that it goes numb for a second?

"I stubbed my toe"
"this is gonna hurt"
1 second later
"OWOWOWOWOWOWOW"

or when you put your finger or hand under hot water, it goes numb and then you get the burning feeling?

Off Topic / Video Game High School (VGHS)- Season 2 is almost here!
« on: March 15, 2013, 06:02:34 PM »

Video Game High School is an action comedy Internet web series by Rocket Jump Studios. It was written by Matthew Arnold, Will Campos and Brian Firenzi and directed by Matthew Arnold, Brandon Laatsch and Freddie Wong. The series stars Josh Blaylock as protagonist Brian D, Jimmy Wong as Ted Wong, Ellary Porterfield as Ki Swan, Johanna Braddy as Jenny Matrix, and Brian Firenzi as The Law. Rocket Jump Studios describes it as "a show about best friends, first loves, and finding that perfect head shot."

Premise

The series is set in the near future where video gaming elevates its best players to stardom by its position as the world's most popular competitive sport. One such celebrity gamer is 'The Law', a master first-person shooter (FPS) player. His fame is so great that a news channel invites him to play a match live on national television; owing to the random selection of the server—and thus the players—on, and with, which to play, he effortlessly kills his opponents. Growing bored, he tries even more risky ways of killing, and all goes well until a lucky shot from Brian, an ordinary high school student, kills him. This fortunate shot earns Brian international fame as the "One Shot Wonder" and gains him a place at the 'Video Game High School' (VGHS), an elite academy for the world's top gamers. Unfortunately, 'The Law', who now bears a grudge against Brian, also attends VGHS; the Law is determined to humiliate Brian and force him out of the school.

Cast
Josh Blaylock as Brian Doheny (commonly referred to as BrianD), an average and wimpy high school student who gets to enroll in VGHS after killing 'The Law' in an FPS.
Jimmy Wong as Ted Wong, Brian's tag-along and roommate. He is the son of Freddie Wong and likes drift racing, although his father wants him to be a rhythm gaming expert like himself.
Johanna Braddy as Jenny Matrix, a sophomore who is trying to get onto the Varsity team. She is Brian's love interest.
Ellary Porterfield as Ki Swan, Ted's main love interest and one of Brian's friends.
Brian Firenzi as The Law, the world's #1 amateur gamer. He is Jenny Matrix's boyfriend for most of the series.
Benji Dolly as Games Dean
Rocky Collins as Drift King, the captain of the Drift Racing team and Ted's frenemy.
Freddie Wong as a fictionalized version of himself. He is a world-famous rhythm gaming expert, and he teaches rhythm gaming at VGHS. He is the father of Ted Wong.

Harley Morenstein as Dean Ernie Calhoun

Joey Bertran as Jumpin' Jax
LeeAnna Vamp as Esme

Production and Release
Video Game High School is co-created by Freddie Wong, Will Campos, Brian Firenzi and Matt Arnold. In addition to acting as showrunner, Matt is also a writer, along with Will Campos and Brian Firenzi (founder of 5secondfilms.com). The series is based on a concept by Will Campos and Chris Pappavaselio. The team found funding for the series through Kickstarter, where he set a funding goal for $75,000 to be raised in a 30 day period. That amount was quickly pledged in less than 24 hours and continued to climb from there. On October 22, 2011, pledging came to a close. A total of $273,725 was raised for the project from 5,661 backers.[2]
The team at Rocket Jump chose a webseries as the medium because his team "strongly believe the foundations for the future of digitally distributed content will be laid by webseries". Production began in mid-October, with the project finishing in early 2012. Principal photography for the film began on October 25, and ended in late November. The final four days of shooting took place at the Eagle Mountain iron mine and Mojave Desert. Post-production started shortly after and ended in early 2012. The trailer for the series premiered on YouTube on May 11 on freddiew's channel. The trailer currently has nearly 3.5 million views with 96% likes on freddiew on YouTube as of June 17, 2012.
Later, the show was edited into a two-hour long movie and released on other mediums, including DVD, Blu-ray, iTunes and Netflix.
