Learn to play Annoying Orangeet!

It can be competitive with your class mates if that's what you're into. Or you can just enjoy learning something new. It's a lot of fun, really.

Well, now that there's a thread for this game...

Does anyone have any suggested mods for Fallout: New Vegas? I'm currently using Fook, Fellout, Freeside/The Strip Open, Project Nevada, Realistic Headshots, both New Vegas Bounties mods, aaaand no bullet bending.

I need more mods.
Ladder Restoration project is a nice little thing. If you want a change in texture, NMC's texture pack comes in 4 different sizes.
Radio Active Channel Extender allows you to listen to your own music. You can optionally download 50 songs that come from the era. The default music gets boring after a bit.

I disagree with that. Notch is an attention whore, he started a bunch of stuff with people. Like with the yogscast, he likes to start stuff.
I was unaware of this. What did he start with the Yogscast?

Well... what if they did a starmade approach. Big randomly generated worlds with the ability to build post apoc cars and crude guns while scavenging in for prewar relics? Also faction wars, roleplaying, bandits, mutant creatures, and ai neutral towns.
I feel grinding would be a big part in that. Grinding is a big part in all MMOs. You just need to find a system that reduces it to as little as possible.

Bethesda was a big starfish in that case. They said Interplay could make the mmo, but then said that they violated the contract which apparently said they could only use the Fallout name. Also they didn't want Interplay to forget the lore that Bethesda already forgeted up.
Bethesda can be quite an starfish. Like that dispute with Mojang over their card game, "Scrolls".

is it just me
or is like, a co-op version a lot more interesting than an MMO
You aren't alone. I don't enjoy MMO's that much. I'd like just me and a friend patroling the wasteland together, alone.

I was wondering, are they gonna make 2 mmo games? They already announced the Elder Scrolls mmo, and I haven't hear any public announcements of the fallout one except for the emails I've got from them. It seems like a project they might of scrapped.

Apparently the website is down now too.
There was a legal dispute. It's not called Fallout MMO anymore, but Project V13. Interplay is still working on it.

I have a feeling Fallout 4 might be a repeat of Fallout tactics. From what I heard it is might be futuristic like tesla coils everywhere and stuff, so that probably means some robot army comes out of nowhere just like Fallout Tactics. However these are just based off rumors, so we will see.
I wouldn't trust those rumors. We have nothing about the game so far. The only rumor I've heard is it's likely we'll hear a release date by the end of the week.

Why do you have 2 reserved spaces? Lol.
Because richards.
Old games were great, then three comes and at the lore is all messed up.

The Enclave was destroyed beyond recognition and they were purist scum, however Bethesda decided to reuse them, The Brotherhood of Steel never did anything and they were greedy starfishs who didn't care about outsiders and they were turned to super good guys, the jet recipe was forgotten and the drug never went left the New Reno area. Also Supermutants only existed in the west and they some were intelligent, instead they were reused and made stupid brutes like Harry from FO1. Also Harold was made leader of the Ghouls, no way would he go east to turn into a tree the Poseidon energy plant was too dangerous to be left alone. Also what about the Midwestern Brotherhood of Steel and Midwestern Super mutants and Brain calculator?
The lore is messed up, yeah, but that didn't stop me from enjoying it. I wouldn't call it the best, but I found the gameplay to be entertaining, aside from the stupid subway system they used in D.C. That got repetitive quick.

Fallout 4 News Corner
ThreeDog returns?
I'll just throw things about Fallout 4 that I find.

All that's known as of now is ThreeDog may be making a return, as Erik Todd Dellums teased his character and voice has the potential to return.
It's likely the same team that created Fallout 3 will be making this, as Bethesda Game Studios is creating this instead of Obsidian Entertainment.

I'm kind of riding the new of this game's richard right now, so I'll post info as I learn it.

Fallout: New Vegas
New Vegas is set in the Mojave desert, the prime attraction being New Vegas. The city was left mostly intact, and the Hoover Dam supplies the town with free water and electricity.
Plot
You were a courier, sent from the town of Primm to send a package to New Vegas. You were intercepted by a mysterious man, and some tribe, and they shot you in the head.
Found by a robot named Victor, he brings you to the settlement of Primm, where Doc Mitchell patches you up, and sends you on your merry way. From there, you seek the man you shot you. The story has multiple endings, depending on what actions you take. There's a war going between the New California Republic (NCR), and Caesar's Legion, to control Hoover Dam.

The game also introduces Hardcore mode. Basic needs, like water, sleeping, and eating, must be met. Also, other features are put in Hardcore mode that generally piss you off.
Weapon modding was also introduced. Want a 9mm pistol with a scope? forget yeah you do, so go buy one and add it on. Larger magazines, increased damage, reduced weight, all can be done through weapon mods.
Gambling is in, too. Because New Vegas. Black Jack, Slots, and Roulette were added in.

Cazadors. These things can suck my richard.

Obligatory Brahmin.

This has been tried multiple times, I'm aware, but it's time for try number [reference]42.[/reference]
The OP will focus on the most recent and future titles.

"Fallout is a series of post-apocalyptic role-playing video games created by Interplay Entertainment. Although the series is set during the 22nd and 23rd centuries, its retrofuturistic story and artwork are influenced by the post-war culture of 1950s America, and its combination of hope for the promises of technology and lurking fear of nuclear annihilation."

S.P.E.C.I.A.L.
Strength, Perception, Endurance, Charisma, Intelligence, Luck
The S.P.E.C.I.A.L. system is your character's defining characteristics. It can influence some conversation, effect skills, effect your critical hit chance, and random occurrence. Each primary statistic starts at 5, then you adjust it according to your play style. Each primary statistic cannot go below 1, or above 10, regardless of in game bonuses.
Strength: Modifies hit points, melee damage, and carry weight.
Skills: Melee Weapons
Perception: Modifies minimum distance for enemies to show on the compass.
Skills: Energy Weapons, Lockpick, and Explosives.
Endurance: Modifies hit points, poison and radiation resistance, healing rate, and additional hit points per level.
Skills: Unarmed and Survival
Charisma: Modifies: NPC disposition, and Companion Nerve*
Skills: Barter and Speech/
Intelligence: Modifies # of skill points received per level, dialogue options.
Skills: Medicine, Repair and Science.
Agility: Modifies AP available in V.A.T.S., Weapon holstering speed, and reload speed.
Skills: Guns and Sneak.
Luck: Modifies Critical chance, casino games, random encounters.
Skills: All
Yes, all skills! In New Vegas, Luck effects the skills like this:
Luck of 1 or 2    =   +1 all skills
Luck of 3 or 4    =   +2 all skills
Luck of 5 or 6    =   +3 all skills
Luck of 7 or 8    =   +4 all skills
Luck of 9 or 10  =   +5 all skills

Combat System
Fallout 1 and 2 uses a turn based system, Fallout 3 and New Vegas use a real-time combat system.
In 3 and New Vegas exists V.A.T.S., or Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting System.
V.A.T.S. is a queuing system. When in combat, hit "V" to activate it. Time slows down dramatically, and allows you to select different limbs to aim for. It shows the chance you have to it each limb.
V.A.T.S. provides a 5% increase in critical hits, but requires Action Points (AP) to use. When in V.A.T.S., you only take 75% of the damage received.
In Fallout 3, V.A.T.S. was significantly better. 15% critical hit, and only 10% of the damage was received. New Vegas nerfed it, however.
Karma System
Karma is the reflection of all actions you've made, both good and bad. The stronger your action is, the more karma points you receive.
Your karma points aren't reflected as numbers. It's just a simple "Good", "Neutral", "Bad" system.
Karma effects what people think of you, and how they respond to you. Some followers require you have a specific Karma level to join you in the Wasteland.
Vaults
Vaults are essentially huge-ass bomb shelters. There were 122 built by Vault-Tec. They can hold 1,000 dwellers in each Vault. The purpose was supposedly to protect citizens, but it was more of a secret Government project, they never actually expected a nuclear war to happen when they built them. Each Vault conducts a different social experiment. You can learn more about each by exploring them in-game. A majority are abandoned, and filled with hostile creatures, crazy dwellers, and hell, even a haunted vault, because you haven't stuff your pants enough yet.
Vaults are protected by giant air-sealed doors. All vaults are maintained and ruled by an Overseer.
PIP-Boy
The PIP-Boy, or Personal Information Processor, is an electronic device developed by RobCo, which goes on your left arm. These where standard issue, and distributed to all Vault-Dwellers. Some received a newer model model than others. They can only be released from the arm by the user, or a skilled technician. PIP-Boys display your health, limb condition, and radiation levels. It's where you equip items, look at the local and global map, and review data received for quests.

I'm alright, I guess.
This girl I've been dating for 5 months is starting to annoy me. She wants to text 24/7, and when I asked for time alone she flipped out and thought I "didn't love her". Love? Bitch this is high school, that stuff doesn't exist here. I don't have the balls to say that to her. Now she's at Disney World, but she's still trying to text me, talking about how she's having a bad time and how much she misses me. God damn, she's too clingy, but I want it to work with her. She's a cool person, and she wasn't always this clingy.

Just wanted to vent.

Um, call me an idiot, but what's the problem? Seriously, it sounds like you all are on the "Apple Hate" bandwagon.

Who cares about the shape? I don't mind it, it looks cool like a cylinder. It also seems to have cutting-edge technology, why can't you guys welcome new things?
Nothing about it is cutting-edge. They've taken technology that's been on the market for quite some time, put it in a trash can, and called it innovative.
With that said, I'm not hating it because it's Apple. I'm hating it because it's a trash can that'll cost up to $2,500, because money.
