Add-Ons / Re: [Brick]1RandomBrickPack Shade Fix
« on: September 20, 2017, 07:31:25 PM »

I managed to get Octo bricks to have rotating side textures by using the BrickTOP texture instead. It looks way better, but this is going to be a lot of work. But I think I'm going to do it, it's probably going to be a couple days before I post a update though.

congrats on being the second add-on ever to be updated in rtb archive
I've been waiting for this addon for years
That's cool, didn't expect that at all.

Update!

I just got a message from Barnabas today and he gave me a version of the pack that he put together that fixes all the ramp collision and panel collision, I also decided not to fix the plant rotation on any of the bricks, so I converted the half rounds back to how they were originally rotated so players can load there old saves without having the half rounds rotated the wrong way, I also went through and fixed the shading issue on the round print bricks.

Please re-download the pack with the same link if you want the new updates.

i just mean like the uv's lighting isn't fixed in place so that its all lighted the same way when you rotate them

for instance the two on the left are rotated the other way from the two on the right and the uv's are facing the wrong way
Yeah, the only way I can think of fixing that would be to use the BRICKTOP texture instead of the BRICKSIDE and uv mapping it to look like the side texture. But the top texture makes that face have more shading then it normally does with the side texture. I could just go ahead and do that and post a picture of it to show what it looks like.

the octagon bricks need fixed rotational uv's. idk if thats possible or not
It's possible, I'll give it a go.

Edit: Nevermind, I forgot when you apply top texture to something it makes it incredibly shiny. Unless that's fine?

Also, thanks for the feedback everybody, much appreciated!

Add-Ons / [Brick] 1RandomBrickPack Remastered

1RandomBrickPack Remastered

This is an old brick pack made by FART and King Tinks, and was edited by RallyBlock and Barnabas to it's now remastered state.
I made sure not to change any of the brick place rotation(When you place a brick in its ghosting state) so if you were to load an old save with this pack it wouldn't cause issues.

What has changed

  • Several of the bricks have had a collision shape remake, thanks to Barnabas.
  • The rounds that had that weird shading effect that would glow in the dark has been fixed, if anything else has this issue let me know.
  • I have worked on the uv-mapping on the octobricks making them not perfect, but better then they were before.
  • I have fixed the 3x3 ceiling plate having the top texture rotated the wrong direction, I believe this was the only brick with this issue but I'm not sure.
  • The 1x2 Log brick was removed from the pack, I will provide a link to the brick pack that should replace that brick.

Known Issues

  • Octobrick's uv-mapping on the horizontal bricks don't line up at certain rotations, I may have a fix but I'll get to that later.
  • Uv-mapping on most bricks I haven't touched yet need some fixing.

Or you could select all faces and press "Ctrl-F" then "Recalculate Normals"

Usually you can tell when faces are flipped from the color of the face, usually a flipped face appears darker then the rest

Sorry lol, Ghost didn't quote the other part of the message I sent him. I didn't just totally copy your model side by side, I just went off of the idea. But I didn't think Ghost would've wanted to use it, I simply just wanted to throw out another idea.

Add-Ons / Re: [Brick]Brick Box

Added download for the blend, I used General's blb converter, I haven't used Demain's Blb exporter yet so I'm not sure if it works with that without some modification.

Also I got the exact uv coordinates for the side textures using Zeblote's UV Calculator here. The Rest of the textures were UV-mapped by hand and is pretty straight forward.

Brick Box
I made a brick box for Simba's Zombie Gamemode which came with some good use, but I figured I'd throw it out there for anybody else that could use it.

Just a box, nothing special. Has correct UV-mapping, and opens and closes using door events. Green part is color-able.

Download

could you be so kind as to post the .blend of the brick as well for newbies to uv mapping like me ty :)

Model is much better, the car is still too high up the ground imo, even compared to the original 60's mustang lol

If you make the wheels have a bit smaller radius and rim than it currently has, it'll fix the problem, cause the wheels are just too large for the car
I have to admit, I hate making suggestions. But I completely love this era of mustangs so I have to at least say something :P

But I feel this is something you should do, shrinking the diameter of the wheels would make a difference. But I still feel like the suggestion Barnabas made about bringing the rocker panels down would fix the ride height better and allow for a more flatter roof. Cause right now the doors look very squished to me compared to the real thing.

Also I just got back from a party and I have a slight buzz, so I don't even know if what I said makes sense but I'll find out tomorrow lol

Never seen a bubble looking roof on a Mustang before.
