I don't know if there is an add-on capable of doing this or if its something default already but if not I think this should be default.

Basically, you load a save called "House". Then you load a save called "Cliffs". Lets say these saves have a lot of bricks (high brick count) and you decide to get rid of the cliffs and just keep the house, you need to clear all of the bricks and then re-load the house to get just the one save you wanted. This "feature" would keep a log of save names and bricks that belong to each save so that when you click "Clear Bricks" theres another tab or something where you can clear certain saves.

Benefits:
Main benefit is that you can have something similar to a "Lobby". Players will remain in there while other saves are being removed/added into the game. This way cyclying maps would be something very easy to do, imagine this being implemented by default (if its not already and I havent discovered this) with Greek2Me's BuildCycle Add-on (in beta or so I think).

I understand Blockland has free sound effects

I was browing around YouTube looking through Lip syncing fails and I found this video

Skip to 0:48 and you can hear the Blockland explosion sound effect (I am positive it is this because you hear that sort of sound effect similar to Blockheads dying at the end of the explosion). This is the second time so far I have heard a song use a sound effect that is also in Blockland, the first time was the song "Young, Wild and Free" and they use the spear sound effect.

General Discussion / Why isnt there a moon in the daycycle?

I just sort of noticed this now after all this time, there is a sun but then there isn't a moon when the sun comes down. There should be a moon, why wasn't it added in the first place? Moon could cast a very transparent or light shadow or something.

Modification Help / Which Ramps are what in the BL directories?

Alright so I need to find out the sizes for all of the ramps from the Blockland Directors. Basically I want to know what a 25x degree ramp would be, the same for all ramps. I have tried looking in the Blockland directories and see that on the BLS files the ramps are by 1x2 and 1x2x3. However where the images are they are named by degrees

I just noticed our forum version is on a much older version than the current release, are there any benefits to upgrading the forum to the current 2.0.3 version?

I know there is a simple way to upgrade it and you download this update pack named "Large Update"

General Discussion / Questioning Shadows and Shaders

I just noticed, when they were first ever talked about (development thread) the shadows were more blurry and less like a perfectly straight line. I like the blurry way better as the straight lines have weird ridges on them.





Would other types of GLSL shaders be able to be added? Could they be made addons? Could there be optional shaders default, the one we have now and then one more blurry?

Off Topic / Looks like Roblox is copying Blockland..sort of.

Just bringing some opinions/news to you guys. A while ago Shedletsky posted a video showing off Roblox's 200,000 bricks demo using a map that was built by Blocklanders.

Now, Roblox discussed about their ideas for the future of Roblox, here they talked about the shadows and Vertex Lighting they want to implement into Roblox as well as a few other things.

First, Roblox is ditching their beveled bricks (or at least thinking so). (Bevels are what make the bricks look round-ish, not sure why they are doing this unless they want to increase FPS, they've had bevels in since late 2008 or early 2009.)


Instead they will have these,

The edges are jagged because the image was re sized, Blockland bricks pretty much have this outline, not as dark and noticeable but when comparing it they look similar. Roblox is however original these, they want to make the lines only show up when you get close to them and fade away as you move back (probably a cover up to help improve FPS).

To start off, this doesnt really look Roblox style, Roblox's vehicles are usually made with larger bricks but whatevs ill let that slide. The second thing is that Roblox's ramps/wedges have and always looked like the brick inside the purple circle. They never had that part where the slope goes down and then its straight. The other ramps that are circled in red have never been in Roblox. I am not sure where they got this idea, but considering how Shedletsky copied a Blockland map I am not sure. They could have copied Lego with the ramps, or in lego known as roof tiles, but I again I am not sure.

What do you think? I wont be replying to this btw, im just bored today.

I am maybe being a bit paranoid, but Roblox always gets their ideas off someone else (their terrain was really based on minecraft terrain).

Just think, if we all donated a dollar we could raise some money for more advertisements. We all talk about how we need more ads but we never so anything about it. We should try and get Badspot to open a PayPal thing so we can donate

We just need someone with good editing skills to make a small picture or .gif showing off Blockland.

Anyone have any ideas of the next update? Anyone think the update will be something big or just bug fixes?

-Default Terrain Bricks
-Default Speedkart GAMEMODE
-Vehicle Physics Update (I doubt this the most because this would probably be a very hard/long task but who knows, we got Shaders didn't we?)

General Discussion / Add-On or command that disables the GUI?

I think this would fit in requests but I am not sure this exists.

Is there an addon that removes the building/Screen UIs? I used to use the Camera mod but it causes my resolutions to show up in ratios and the first time I press the keybind to remove the UI it removes shaders also. Then I need to go to a lower shader setting for shaders to work again.

General Discussion / Blocklands runs great on Linux!!

I've ran Blockland on Linux before back in V19 or V20 and I was amazed at how everything worked. I tried it today and Shaders even work on Max exceptionally well, probably just the same as on Windows. Do you guys think Badspot coded Blockland a certain way to make it work with Linux and the Wine program? Badspot does use Red Hat for the master server so there could be a possibility.

It's just pretty awesome our favorite game can run on all systems.

Alright so I know upload speed matters, I did a speedtest and I have 24mbps upload, if ping matters I have 10-15 ping. How many players could I fit, and how much upload would be needed per player it's like 32kbps or something no?
