yes it does, but it blows stuff

you have to have the exact same song as everyone else in the room

meaning you have to tell all of your friends to download the same song pack

from the same source

and you can't edit them at all in order to play them

but the server is stepmaniaonline.uk (or .eu i forget which one) if you still wanna try it out
