What a coincidence, I heard a low thump while in bed and then, seem to have heard some strange quite noise afterwards. I do belive that this may cause certain people to associate these sort of things with rather far fetched ideas, such as a ghost. Try not to let your imagination get the better of you.

Houses move on their own, it's completely normal. There's always stuff that's slowly settling down, or getting moved by the wind.

Couldn't you use VCE to check what kind of piece each was and then specify a movement range?
