Still a huge as forget console. You still need a place to put the cartridges. Also need different power adapter due to the different hardware. Still need ports for those controllers. And a console that can play 15+ different types of console games isn't exactly cheap.

Seriously, I didn't say PCs can't do anything, I said original is much better, because it just is.They aren't that bad, I mean I still blow into my carts just in case.Oh I know, I was just saying if you want a 3-in-1, hey, the Retron 3 ain't that bad
The small system still needs the same ports due to the cartridges. Plus its not the original if its a custom console.

And with a PC you can choose not to get a Genesis emulator. The 3 in 1 systems may have the Genesis anyway. And if you want to play 10 different types of consoles you don't need to buy a huge clusterforget machine
