« on: August 27, 2017, 04:41:52 AM »if i remember correctly someone wrote a fanfic about why the combine kept the humans alive instead of all out annihilation. basically it went along the lines of that humans aren't too far along evolutionary-wise, therefore we're more easily controllable, and we breed quick enough and are small enough to be the perfect foot soldier for the combine.
augment humans with combine technology and you've got super-soldiers that can be bred in a matter of years compared to their other ground forces. like 5 combine elites can take down a couple of hunters, and even striders. it's all about numbers.
Except that makes no sense since they have a field that prevents reproduction
