So...it's just coming to the Virtual Console? Not to sound rude, but what's the big deal? You can already play it perfectly fine on a SNES (if you manage to have a copy, I think Earthbound was one of those rare carts?) or emulator, which I assume like everyone has already done at this point.

Besides, I have a feeling Nintendo are going to richard the Europeans around again like they did when they first released this game.

Why not just use an emulator? (Do you need it on the go?)

I recently tried Sonic Advance 2 on an emulator.

It's literally unplayable.
