can you show us the original? it would be a lot easier to correct it using the image you started with rather than the one that's already edited and reszied

edit: the way I've written this might imply that it's what I wanted in the first place but it's not! I wanted you to upload it to imgur before so that I could see whether or not it actually was a forum issue, and now that I know it isn't, fixing the problem is relatively simple

Do you mean for me to upload the .psd file, with the image cropped out that I am using for my avatar, somewhere so that it isn't being touched by any compression, or just the photo in a .png directly after being converted from .psd?

idk if you're planning to, but a lot of people do it. please don't lock this thread. and don't edit everything out of the OP
actually, you've done exactly what you should have. you kept the original OP and title, just adding a link to the solution in the OP and an indication that it was solved in the title

if you did edit everything out, people might get confused if they were looking for a solution later and came across this thread. either way, my post would still be there, but it's just not ideal
and keeping the title the same makes it easy to find in a search
not locking it lets people actually post in it later, if they weren't able to fix it with my solution, and assuming it was less than two months after the last post. that way, another thread isn't made, and we already know what they've tried

honestly, judging by the fact that you did the right things in the first place, I probably don't need to tell you this. but it's always good for everyone else to know, and if needed I could link to it another time and avoid writing it up againupload the image to imgur and link it here. that doesn't sound like something the forum's ever done, so I'm guessing it's unrelated

Wasn't planning on it, I know what you mean.

By the way, here it is, before my attempt to remove the white. I used a smudge tool earlier on and it came back to haunt me, I think. I tried removing all the light gray, white pixels, which shouldn't even be visible from a normal view because of how small the actual image is, but it still was showing exactly the same in the avatar on the BLF blue background.

The system is loving me still; the photo uploads with white edges, so I save the photo and remove them, and I upload it again just to look exactly the same.

it's not a filesize problem. it's also not resolution. even if it WAS resolution, the max is 75x75, not 74x74. but it isn't resolution. if you upload an image with larger dimensions, it just resizes it automatically
it's not filetype either. as long as you're using a normal image format it's fine. png is the best choice for anything that isn't animated, and gif is obviously the best choice for anything that is animated

the problem is a flawed security measure
what has always worked for me is saving it in photoshop, using the "save for web" thing, and setting it to save NO metadata
you can do similar things with other editors too, but I can't give you exact instructions for them

That is what I used in the first place. I uploaded the high quality version onto Imgur, saved it, and tried to upload it, but 9.16 kb is too large apparently. I tried uploading that 9.16 kb image onto Imgur and saving it again to see if it would compress it anymore, and it only went down to 9.14 kb.

For some odd reason, the avatar upload size is an absurdly small number. Something like 5KB I think.

That isn't true at all.

Oasis, your avatar is 68 kb, and AtlasBlue, yours is 15 kb. I'm going to see if saving the .psd as a .gif will have any effect on the allowed file size.

Edit: Doing this really messes with the colors, but my first try brought it down to 3 kb.

I am attempting to upload an avatar that is a 75x75. I attempted to save it to the lowest quality possible from a .psd project to .jpg, but the quality is terrible...and yet the file is too large to upload, and is actually 1 kb larger than the full quality .jpg version at 22 kb. I tried to upload the full quality .jpg to an image sharing website, and saving it again, to get a good picture that is compressed, yet doesn't make it look like a giant .jpg artifact. I got an image that was 21 kb down to 10 kb, but it's still not enough.

I was wondering if anyone can tell me the absolute maximum the image file size can be? That way I can at least know how much I can compress my avatar before I can stop.

Help / Blockland black screen

I recently started fresh on a new hard drive with a fresh install of Windows 7. My old hard drive is fully accessible from this new drive.

My problem now is, after I install Blockland with no problem whatsoever, it launches with a black screen. The launcher window is fully black, and then after the launcher is done, the actual game window launches, which is not in fullscreen, and it itself is fully black.

I thought this obviously was a graphics driver problem, so I went to the Intel website, and downloaded the latest drivers, which it told me I already had anyway. I installed and restarted as told to. This did not work. I used the Intel driver utility to detect missing/outdated drivers, and it did. It failed to install the driver it downloaded for me, so I manually searched the exact name on the Intel website and installed it fully, restart and all, without issue.

Now I am not sure what to do, as the problem persists. Blockland works fine whenever I start up Windows 7 on my other hard drive, although there is something wrong on my other drive with Windows, and that is that the resolution cannot be anything but stretched.

If anyone could help, I would very much appreciate it. I attached my console log file if needed.

I think to a certain extent, Lego stuff in Blockland looks good. The first truck looks very nice, the rest is really weird looking. Not sure about the ship, maybe a better angled picture?
