What's the point of even having the interface on a remote webserver? Surely if you hosted it via Blockland using something like the Torque Webserver resource by Truce it'd be a way more effective way of interfacing with the server. I know from my experience that getting a remote interface to work well with a server takes a lot of work and has a lot of drawbacks. That way there's no cost to you either. It's just my preference to have it on the JS server. Even if your server is down, you can restart it. Plus, there would be a "my server crashed and I'm on a plane somewhere over the Atlantic Ocean stuff." issue. Then you have to deal with port forwarding. I already own the JS Web Server, so I don't mind using it.
what happened in this thread? op edited the op that he, the op wroteHe got flamed big time within the first minute of it's inception. He posted pictures of a ton of smaller blockheads (to represent small children) lying in the Self Delete position in pools of blood, as well as a little girl writing "I'm Sorr--" on the chalkboard before being killed. There was also a picture of a full size Blockhead (representing shooter) with a gun opening up in a classroom.
forget 2 weeks later*No one forgot about it, I hate to tell you. Only people who are self-centered enough to not care after a while.
The point is that you're going to waste a lot of time on something nobody's going to buy, when you could be making something free which people would use and would be beneficial to the community. Take a look at this for example:I'm beginning to consider this. I may offer the personal package at no charge. However, it will strictly be limited to personal use, and professional will still cost (as it should). I would need more than one opinion on this, however.

A free server manager for minecraft - it's amazing. It does awesome things and it's free. This is the kind of thing Blockland could really benefit from and it'd be silly to charge for it. What you're spending apparently a significant amount of time on is going to benefit very few people if any at all.
Definitely should lock before you get flamed to deathIt's too late for that.
Wait how do you google search a pictureDrag it into the image search box, and it will find similar images for you.

lol
I wouldn't. But its still a waste of money for a stupid management system. I mean honestly. You do realize that you're making yourself look even worse than you did before you started posting here?
If it was a hosting service, Ya, I understand. But all you do is give a remote management system and charge PER MONTH. It's a loving waste. Like seriously, It's server management, and should be a low cost one time payment, Not the price of the entire game for just 6 months of it.
I guess putting "done" in quotation marks means "barely done at all"? Pretty confusing!!You probably shouldn't be assuming things if you're going to take shots at a service. I have every method developed to pull data from the server and have it on blockStar. That's what I mean by "done". Are you handicapped?
How do you make a login system unanimous? All authentication is dependent on the web-server. 3 different things have to be able to connect to that web-server with their own methods and authenticate the client. The login system is "unanimous", meaning that all 3 modules can authenticate on the same system whilst using completely different methods. Maybe "in perfect unison" would have been a better phrase.
I just agreed with Ephialtes and Rubs opinion that you having done nothing and calling a wonderful design "wonderful" even though you did not make it! I was considering getting this but then you just called my rightful opinion sad. I won't be supporting you anymore!
Oh my! Thanks for pointing this out! I had such high hopes for this service. NevermimdReally?
RTB 1Amusing. I use a template, and the service sucks all of a sudden. A template that I paid my own money for.
blockstar 1
Right, but no point telling people how much you've progressed and then just showing pictures of a template you've downloaded in 5 minutes. So you're criticizing what? I did progress by creating a completely secure and unanimous login system. What you don't seem to comprehend is what the server needs to display to the wrapper software, which is where I am progressing. In fact, I pretty clearly said that. I even told you that I'm "hoping to get some visual development done today". blockStar consists of 3 things that need developed: 1) blockStar Server-Client, 2) blockStar Website (including back-end server data), 3) blockStar Mod (that has to communicate with the back-end of blockStar).
The fact that the graphs in the demo are exactly the same as in his screenshots also shows nothing is functional at all ...Ahem. Where did I say that the screenshot of the graph was functioning? You apparently like to blatantly disregard visual development. If you're telling me to start inserting functioning data into a work-in-progress layout, you're handicapped.
Didn't notice that until now. Quite disappointing :(Not really. The data is able to be placed in the database by the server mod. Everything that the graphs need to be real is there. However, the layout of the home screen is way too wip for me to start plugging in real data. I'd much rather have the layout done first, because doing both at the same time will cause chaos.
Oh my! Thanks for pointing this out! I had such high hopes for this service. NevermimdThis post is sad, and I have no reason to respond to it. Disregard the fact that I'm doing the visual development. Do you know what filler data is?
Well that's embarrasing, Jeep. Not really. I use a template (one that I paid for), and the service sucks?
RTB was designed from scratch by me, only the button elements and message/alert boxes are based off Twitter's open source web framework. So, what difference does RTB using a template or not make? I don't get it.
Wait, so he has to pay $800 if he wants to use the template?Extended allows for redistribution of it if offered in a software package. blockStar is only located on my website, and therefore will be fine with the regular license. You apparently can't read, or are too incapable to understand that.
Oh gee. Better use something else.
Yeah, or just give up, not sure he's cut out for this development. That's your best attempt? How sad of you to think that I'm stopping development just because I'm using a template. Keep trying, Lub. Keep trying.
