Creativity / Blocko Santos - The map that was never finished

Hey all,


Back in 2011 before the terrains and interiors were removed I can still remember how GTT Viano City turned out well by the community. Because of the success the development of Blocko Santos began in December 2011, it was based on Los Santos from GTA San Andreas.

The roads and terrain were almost finished, the progress on the buildings started immediately. After I took a break, Kompressor then announced the removal of terrains and interiors in February 2012. The development of Blocko Santos was halted. After months of inactivity, version 21 was released. In 2013 plans were risen again to finish this city map for Blockland version 16. Not long after that, the external hard disk was crashed, carrying the entire Blocko Santos development and it's 3d model files. The development was immediately stopped and the remaining files that existed in Blockland were achieved.

Years later I want to share you how big this project was going to be. If it was finished, GSF San Andreas fans would have moved over to this map. It was going to replicate A LOT of stuff from GTA San Andreas in to this map. Groove Street, Verdant Bluffs, LS East-side ghetto's, Big Smoke's house, eastereggs, etc. It's such painful to see this map empty, unable to continue the progress.

Anyone who thought that the map development for me was over, it is still going on. The latest project is Peek City Stories, slightly based on United States of Peekarica savebuild with it's own theme and culture. This map will work with B4v21 clients and Blockland Classic Mod.

I am still hosting a v3 server with some v29 features including the arena and the original Log Challenge with a Magic Challenge.

Too bad that the AoT subform was locked. It was also spammed with a lot of useless topics. I do believe that AoT came before Blockland. Port Town already existed in a different style in Badspot's 2002 game Future War.

I think that Blockland pretty reached the limit of what you can do with Torque Game Engine. It would be nice to see the game develop further in another engine, even if everything has to be recoded from the start.

when I click on a profile on orb's rtb archive, the connection fails (probably due to the lack of profile archives) but my anti virus goes off saying stuff like, "blocked malicious redirect" or "outbound traffic detected"

is there something here or is it a false alarm

I was on oRB's yesterday. Everything was fine. Seems to me that you have a virus on your pc that redirects you to another website every couple of minutes or hours.

The v3 server has been online since last year. I will be online later today.

The server is back online again! I had no time to reboot the server when the VPS was restarted to fix the exploits in the CPU thing. Have fun with playing!

Problem solved. Blockland installed a new default installation in My Documents without my knowledge. So every time I started up the dedicated.bat it linked to the new Blockland installation (?).

Ever since the arrival of version 21, the server keeps loading default crap instead of the Add-Ons I've installed. When ever I go to the Server Settings none of the Add-Ons I've installed will appear in the list, except the custom music files.

Yes, I have already searched the problem in the entire forum many times in the past. But it seems like that the dedicated.bat code works for a little time and then it is broken again by loading up only the default Add-Ons. This problem only occurs on v21, any dedicated server that has been hosted before v20 didn't had this strange problem.

I still don't buy it. TheDailyBeast and the site you linked are extremely small-time journalism. I think the authors of the article stumbled upon this thread and reported on it. That or they were tipped off.

The only thing that conclusively ties Sephiroth to this William Atchison guy is the fact that TomTheGeek somehow pulled up the name 'William Atchison' back in 2011 while trying to dox Poiuyt. But several people I've contacted all claim that Poiuyt lived in Canada.

We've changed the 'perpetrator' here multiple times. I don't think this was a Blocklander anymore.

He was still a Blocklander. Sephiroth used to play Blockland Retail sometimes. This was his last video he posted, three days before the school shooting.

He was mostly on Return To Blockland 1.045 and ran some servers there.
