Help / Re: Unable to get online.
« on: December 14, 2008, 08:55:41 AM »
I'm not exactly certain whether it will stay permanently fixed or not, but I seem to be able to authenticate and connect to the master server now, as well as the forums and Blockland.us.

Is this happening to everyone or just certain people?

I noticed that both me and the first poster use Windows Vista, does anyone else who has the problem also use it?

I also seem to be getting a similar problem, just today though. (I attempted to use Blockland an hour ago)

I can access the forums and the rest of the Internet fine, but not blockland.us in my Internet browser.
I can 'ping' blockland.us and the forums fine. The forums seem to have a different IP address, which may be related.
Blockland will not authenticate me (Offline Mode), but I can connect to RTB and the IRC in-game just fine.
I am using Windows Vista.
I tried switching my router DNS server/settings to "OpenDNS" (on recommendation), which seemed to allow me to access the forums again (as they had stopped working for a period of time) but didn't solve the problem.
When attempting to connect to Blockland.us via Firefox and OpenDNS, it gives a special 'error page':

Nameserver trace for www.blockland.us:

    * Looking for who is responsible for root zone and followed b.root-servers.net.
    * Looking for who is responsible for us and followed i.gtld.biz.
    * Looking for who is responsible for blockland.us and followed ns2.servermatrix.com.

Nameservers for www.blockland.us:

    * ns1.servermatrix.com
    * ns2.servermatrix.com

The servers listed are working, but something else might have gone wrong.

It's not the price, it's just having to run in circles all the time to not die would annoy me a lot.

Not viewable in any modelling program, unless you get the demo of Torque Showtool Pro (view only) or Shaper.

This topic was stickied and at the top of the forum. There isn't really any excuse for not seeing it.

Modification Help / Re: What is a ADT file?
« on: December 13, 2008, 02:18:12 PM »
I searched Google for 'adt filetype'. This was the first result.

http://filext.com/file-extension/ADT

Do you have any of the listed programs? (e.g. AdTech Fax, Advantage Database Server)

For some reason, your computer cannot connect to the Blockland server to identify your key, but you do appear to have a valid one. (Correct format due to error checks, otherwise you'd get Demo Mode)

Try checking your firewall settings for applications. Make sure Blockland is allowed to connect to the internet.

I think you need an armature or bone or something to that effect.

If you lose the tutorial map, then reinstall the game in a different folder and copy it from there. Apart from that, it's useless.

A portable version of the game would be interesting.

I'm guessing there will be some large 'change' in the game to make it interesting and different, as the gameplay has been mostly the same through the last three.

And it won't be coming to XBox 360 unless Microsoft buys Nintendo and the rights to every character in the games. which it probably would, and could do

Keeping the hunger level reasonable is annoying enough without having to pay all your money to random people in taxes and keeping all of these up.

General Discussion / Re: Brick Physics Preview
« on: December 13, 2008, 03:02:41 AM »
Ok I didnt want to read all fifty sumtin pages so I got a question.

If I set a brick Onactivate>player>kill
And it got hsot would the events still apply?

Like at a diffrent spot from where it was planted would it still do the events.
I doubt it. The physics objects are just decoration, players cannot interact with them. Clicking a physics brick won't actually do anything with its events.

I moved everything into the same system used for static world geometry, which was a grid of static meshes
Does this mean that 'Special' bricks fake killed will have cuboid collisions instead of rolling or being like ramps?

It would be possible, the only problem I can see might be with spawning a load of physics vehicles/objects inside each other - it would probably react like skis crashing into each other, exploding at a very high speed rather than just bouncing away or falling apart.
