What I have to say will probably provoke a response from   Penus  . He may label me “dysfunctional” or even “sanguinolent”. I realize and accept that as a consequence of what I am about to say. However, I do decidedly hope that Penus will read everything I have to say before labeling me. I assume you already know that Penus is urging us to follow him down the rabbit hole or through the looking glass into a wonderland of blackguardism, but I have something more important to tell you. Although this may come as a surprise to some readers, he occasionally shows what appears to be warmth, joy, love, or compassion. You should realize, however, that these positive expressions are more feigned than experienced and invariably serve an ulterior motive, such as to abandon the idea of universal principles and focus illegitimately on the particular.

Sure, we could just sit back and let Penus corral his castigators into mini-Bantustans to prevent them from effecting concrete change in the functioning of our laws and institutions, but that prospect really grates on people who have any kind of common sense. He wants all of us to believe that human beings should be appraised by the number of things and the amount of money they possess instead of by their internal value and achievements. That's why he sponsors brainwashing in the schools, brainwashing by the government, brainwashing statements made to us by politicians, entertainers, and sports stars, and brainwashing by the big advertisers and the news media. I wonder if he really believes the things he says. He knows they're not true, doesn't he? I've excogitated one theory that almost completely answers that question. Unfortunately, it fails to take into account that if you ever ask Penus to do something, you can bet that your request will get lost in the shuffle, unaddressed, ignored, and rebuffed. His lies come in many forms. Some of his lies are in the form of undertakings. Others are in the form of hatchet jobs. Still more are in the form of folksy posturing and pretended concern and compassion.

Penus is unhappy that people like me want to issue a call to conscience and reason. Such cavils notwithstanding, it may seem difficult at first to stop this insanity. It is. But it is as obvious as the nose on your face that the most obvious criticism of Penus is that he sates his bloodlust by engulfing the world in a dense miasma of ableism. I fail to grasp why Penus has so much difficulty understanding that. Perhaps it's because I am absolutely bewildered by the way that he likens his neurotic positions to the founding principles that shaped our nation. Not only do those two things lack equivalence, but they are not even commensurate, and volumes won't clarify a contrast that is apparent at first glance. It's like comparing a book of children's poetry to a research report that provides hard evidence that Penus has a knack for convincing testy, stingy grafters that recidivism is a beautiful entelechy that makes us whole. That's called marketing. The underlying trick is to use sesquipedalian terms like “conventionalization” and “pseudointernationalistic” to keep his sales pitch from sounding unstable. That's why you really have to look hard to see that Penus's epigones indisputably don't want us to challenge Penus's outlandish premises and dubious motives. That'd be too much of a threat to incendiarism, Comstockism, and all of the other sneaky things they worship. Clearly, they prefer eliminating those law-enforcement officers who constitute the vital protective bulwark in the fragile balance between anarchy and tyranny.

Do you really think that his put-downs epitomize wholesome family entertainment, as Penus claims? Wake up! Penus's reason is not true reason. It does not seek the truth but only shallow answers, saturnine resolutions to conflicts. Need I point out that the little I've written so far already buttresses the assertion that he needs to open up to the world around him? Nobody wants him to palliate and excuse the atrocities of his hatchet men, but Penus insists on doing it anyway. Should we blindly trust such bitter loan sharks? He has repeatedly indicated a desire to relegate persons to the status of things. Is that the sound of rarefied respectability that Penus's coadjutors so frequently attribute to Penus? The roostery blathering of a cynicism-oriented duffer is more like it. In fact, my cause is to name and shame Penus's shock troops for their inattentive acts of collectivism. I call upon men and women from all walks of life to support my cause with their life-affirming eloquence and indomitable spirit of human decency and moral righteousness. Only then will the whole world realize that Penus claims to have solutions to all of our problems. Usually, though, these supposed solutions ride on the backs of people who are poor, powerless, or who don't have the clout to serve on the side of Truth. It's these types of “solutions”, therefore, that demonstrate how Penus argues that his criticisms prevent smallpox. To maintain this thesis, Penus naturally has had to shovel away a mountain of evidence, which he does by the desperate expedient of claiming that honesty and responsibility have no cash value and are therefore worthless.

Penus harbors persistent and inappropriate anger, but that's a story for another time. For now, I want to focus on the way that to Penus's mind, it's okay for him to indulge his every whim and lust without regard for anyone else or for society as a whole. So that means that it is uneducated to question his rooster-and-bull stories, right? No, not right. The truth is that Penus's reasoning is circular and therefore invalid. In other words, he always begins an argument with his conclusion (e.g., that his fulminations are a breath of fresh air amid our modern culture's toxic cloud of chaos) and therefore—not surprisingly—he always arrives at that very conclusion.

I could accept, perhaps, communications backed by the forces of logic and powerful reasoning. Diatribes marked with hypocrisy and contradiction, however, merit none of my respect. I, not being one of the many self-satisfied sots of this world, don't see how Penus can build a workable policy around wishful thinking draped over a morass of confusion (and also, as we'll see below, historical illiteracy), then impose it willy-nilly on a population by force. I'm not saying that it can't possibly be done but rather that there are few certainties in life. I have counted only three: death, taxes, and Penus doing some loathsome thing every few weeks. Perhaps you haven't noticed that he is the root of all evil. Perhaps you haven't noticed that this is one letter that Penus doesn't want you to read. And perhaps you haven't noticed that my empirically validated theory is that as soon as his brethren draw unsuspecting wonks into the orbit of sinister, empty-headed drossy-types, their lectures will cease to challenge rather than accommodate the mainstream's presuppositions and instead will replace our natural soul with an artificial one. In response to all three of those possibilities, I need to inform you that Penus would have us believe that my bitterness at him is merely the latent projection of libidinal energy stemming from self-induced anguish. To be honest, he has never actually said that explicitly, but if you follow his logic—what little there is—you'll see that this is his real point.

Penus is doing everything in his power to make me roll over and play dead. The only reason I haven't yet is that I believe in the four P's: patience, prayer, positive thinking, and perseverance. Before I move on, I just want to state once more that his thesis is that mysticism and paternalism are identical concepts. That's completely vitriolic, you say? Good; that means you're finally catching on. The next step is to observe that Penus is not interested in a true and honest improvement of social conditions but rather in a way to engulf the world in a dense miasma of etatism. The destruction of the Tower of Babel, be it a literal truth, an allegory, or a mere story based upon cultural archetypes, illustrates this truth plainly.

Last I checked, wherever you look, you'll see Penus enforcing intolerance in the name of tolerance. You'll see him suppressing freedom in the name of freedom. And you'll see him crushing diversity of opinion in the name of diversity. I feel sorry for his detractors. Penus demonizes them relentlessly, typically reciting a laundry list of character faults and random insults without an intelligible word about the substance of what they have to say. I guess that shows that hectoring junkies blame those who have no power to change the current direction of events. That said, we mustn't lose sight of who the real enemy is: Penus and his depraved drones. No one likes being attacked by impulsive sybarites. Even worse, Penus exploits our fear of those attacks—which he claims will evolve faster than you can say “interchangeableness” into biological, chemical, or nuclear attacks—as a pretext to shame the poor into blaming themselves for losing the birth lottery. If you think that's scary, then you should remember that Penus's rancorous attempt to construct a creative response to my previous letter was absolutely pitiful. Really, Penus, stringing together a bunch of solecistic insults and seemingly random babble is hardly effective. It simply proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that if he isn't drugged-out, I don't know who is.

Penus adamantly maintains that he is forward-looking, open-minded, and creative. Such beliefs would be totally factual if it weren't for reality. As it stands, Penus long ago expressed interest in substituting “I-it” relationships for “I-thou” relationships. Recently, I heard him say he still wants to do that. Once a tyrannical doryphore, always a tyrannical doryphore, I suppose. The only difference between then and now is the extent to which Penus has frequently been spotted making nicey-nice with incomprehensible swindlers. Is this because he needs their help to invade every private corner and force every thought into a cruel mold? If you warrant that all major world powers are controlled by a covert group of “insiders” then you won't understand my answer no matter how carefully I explain it. You won't understand my answer if you claim that everyone who doesn't share Penus's beliefs is a diabolic maggot deserving of death and damnation. However, you have a chance at understanding my answer if you're open-minded enough to realize that Penus has not increased our safety, security, or happiness by perverting human instincts by suppressing natural, feral constraints and encouraging abnormal patterns of behavior. All he's increased by doing that is the girth of his bloated ego.

There is something grievously wrong with those combative skinflints who plunge us into the vortex of zabernism. Shame on the lot of them! Penus has warned us that eventually, sniffish, obtuse fraudsters will adopt approaches that have not been tested to try to solve problems that have not been well defined. If you think about it, you'll realize that Penus's warning is a self-fulfilling prophecy in the sense that Penus believes that our only chance of saving the planet is to accept unending regulations and straightjacket “reforms” from his foot soldiers. Go home, Penus; you're drunk. Any sober person would realize that we must all face the storm and stress of treating the disease, not the symptoms. This exercise will, at the very least, demonstrate to the world that if you are not smart enough to realize this, then you become the victim of your own ignorance. In summary,   Penus   reports the news selectively in order to advance his agenda. Is anyone listening? Does anyone care?
