Gallery / modmans zelda build
« on: May 03, 2012, 08:15:41 PM »
okay, so if you recall back to when i started porting zelda maps, i wanted to find a way to keep the maps working even after v21, but i soon gave up, and just decided to build them, so i'm starting with hyrule field. heres a few pics of what i have so far:

i really like this building style, so i hope i can stick with it through this project, cause this is basically a first for me. a lot of the style im using ive never done before, such as the rocky walls and the realistic looking trees. hopefully it doesn't look too terribly bad, but if it does, tell me so i can improve!

thats all for now, hope you'll enjoy/have enjoyed the progress

General Discussion / offline option?
« on: April 20, 2012, 12:36:33 AM »
i may have imagined this, but wasn't there a forum option that made it look like you were offline, even if you were online? it basically didnt update your last time logged in, and it always said you were offline. did this forum have that button or did i imagine that?

Off Topic / looking into buying headphones?
« on: March 31, 2012, 08:39:37 PM »
alrighty blockland forums, i'm thinking about buying some newer headphones. but before i get into details, i have two quick questions:

beats by dr. dre - what exactly is the downside of these? i always hear people say they aren't good, but im listening to songs with my friends pair right now and they sound pretty good. the only downside so far is they leak like a bitch, but thats it.

skullcandy's - i hear people turn these down as well. i've never listened to music with them but i thought they were top notch

souls - a friend of mine said these were some of the best you could get, but ive never even heard of them till he showed me them so i wasn't really into it

so what do you think forums? should i look into the ones i listed or venture out and find something different? im also open to any suggestions anyone has

EDIT: i would also like headphones that have a relatively good bass. i enjoy it when headphones rattle from the bass c:

Music / JSRF - Music Pack! (UPDATED TOPIC)
« on: March 11, 2012, 01:49:43 AM »
"Damn, it's Poison Jam!"
i think anyone who played Jet Set Radio Future can agree the music kicked ass, so i figured it should be brought to blockland!

songs in the pack:
Concept of Love
Like This Like That
Teknopathetic
Statement Of Intent
Funky Dealer

NOTE: the songs i've looped are the ones i felt were most iconic, if anyone would like to request a JSRF song that isn't in the pack, i can make it for you!

« on: March 08, 2012, 06:52:51 PM »
i've really been into making helmets lately, and i've always wanted to do Guy Manuel's helmet from Daft Punk, so i figured it'd be time for me to start, which i finally did a few weeks ago! i wanted to build up a bit of progress before i posted anything, but its still early in the works so i cant say its beautiful, but heres what i have so far:

so like i said, its not too pretty at the moment, but i'll post as i go along... which may take a while because progress is slow for me :S

if you have any questions i'd be glad to answer them!

Off Topic / Paranormal Activity - Bad or Good?
« on: February 19, 2012, 02:40:20 PM »
im watching paranormal activity 3 for the second time and i have to say, this one actually is scary.

paranormal activity 1 and 2 didn't really scare me that much. the only thing in paranormal activity that was freaky was the last scene where the mom gets thrown into the camera, but that was just cause it was sudden.

paranormal activity 2 didn't scare me that much. the only shocker scene was when the mom had dem big sharp teeth and was screaming at the camera.

paranormal activity 3 actually has me freaked out at more than one scene. i really like this one c:

so what are yall's opinions on these here ghost stories?

Gallery / porting oot zelda maps into blockland
« on: January 16, 2012, 08:34:56 PM »
okay, so through the course of today, i have managed to port zelda maps to blockland, using a number of roms and rom modding programs.

as a test, i ported the courtyard. (the version after you've already visited zelda) :

i did attempt to do something big, specifically the forest temple, but it crashed every time i tried to export it to a .dif. a lot of the temples are way to big to be ported, but something small like this, (70-x) or maybe the stairways to ganon (10-x) can be ported easily

its pretty glitchy due to it being ripped directly from the rom, so if anyone wants to do this, you'd probably have to touch it up a bit, but that shouldn't be too hard. if any one wants  to know how to do this, i dont mind posting instructions ;)

i also want to thank the guys in this topic: http://forum.blockland.us/index.php?topic=182354.0  for helping me figure out how to export a .obj file to .map file

Gallery / Modmans Mansion
« on: January 14, 2012, 07:55:16 PM »
hai everyone, i've decided to show everyone another build of mine i've nearly finished, my mansion:

i had been searching the clan pages when i had found a clan that revolves around building completely with default bricks, no add-ons, no nothing. i decided i would take on the challenge and see what i could build with completely default bricks by using nothing but default bricks. granted, its not completely default, but the only things i used were doors and truenos colorset, other than that, anyone can play on it without downloading a thing!

so without further ado, here are the pics:

this house has a total of 13 rooms, with its own share of secrets. i hope you enjoy, and you are free to rate.

Creativity / modman's photoshop stuffs
« on: November 21, 2011, 05:47:45 PM »
over the school year, I've been doing different assignments for my graphics design class, and I thought I'd share some of my favorites with you guys!

for this one, I had to make a noticeable change in a picture, so I went with the movie Robots, but replaced Rodney and Finder with Guy Manuel and Thomas Bangalter. (they're supposed to be robots)

I don't exactly remember what I was assigned to do when I made this, I think it was when we were learning how to add different things to pictures

I actually made this one today. we had to find a tutorial that we liked and go with it, but I decided to use a mix of tutorials to make a background for my school computer. the website I put these pictures on re-sized them. this one is actually 1680x1050

I'd actually like some criticism on these. supposably theres a contest my school does and if your entry is good enough I think you get some money. I don't really remember the prize, but I'd like to win.

Suggestions & Requests / Synth 12-24 sounds?
« on: November 08, 2011, 06:33:38 PM »
after watching a few videos of some songs people made with the extra synth sounds, it inspired me to make a song or two with them, but i don't know where to get the extra sounds. i've searched the forums in the places i thought they'd be and all i can find are broken links.

what happened to them? and is there any way i may possibly be able to get them? any help would be appreciated

Gallery / Legend of Zelda Overworld - NES (WIP)
« on: October 18, 2011, 11:26:58 PM »
over the corse of this week, I've been working on a small project, recreating the overworld from the original Legend of Zelda. I'm not very far into the build, but I thought I'd go ahead and make a topic just to showcase what I have so far.

picturds (in comparison):

Mine

Original area

I'm honestly only building this just to get back into the hang of building. I haven't built anything in so long so I decided this would give me something to do, so don't take it to seriously ;)

more to come!
