yo modman you wanna come out here

I was watching Lego stop motion videos on youtube and like many others I stumbled upon the "Awesome Lego House" video of someone showcasing their Blockland creation in RTB.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tzaLRjayeY4

I remember getting really excited about this because up until this point I only knew of and played Lego Digital Designer which wasn't really what I wanted in a Lego game but it's all they had. and then there it was; everything I thought a Lego game should be and it actually existed, I purchased my key in the summer of 2007. I can definitely say it was the most significant $20 I have ever spent.
literally exact same story. but ill throw this in:

i hesitated getting blockland because despite never using a modeling program, i assumed blockland was not actually a game but some complex modeling/game engine type deal, so i didn't touch it till i found the video again a couple weeks later and figured, "forget it ill look it up".

i remember the initial butterfly feeling of building stuff from my lego instructions in demo mode and being able to walk in it and see the inside of my lego builds through the eyes of a minifigure. my very first time in blockland was building these 4 lego sets in bedroom. i got it that night

i joined a brickadia server after not playing for a while and and one of the first servers i joined i was immediately put into a group separating minors from 18+ year olds because the admins like to "ERP". i dont really know what that means though

4chan going down probably would be a net benefit for the internet ngl
i have to give credit to 4chan. its a fascinating dichotomy to witness how it takes the rest of the world multiple years to catch up to hard truths that internet schizos are able to identify in a matter of weeks

(ex: kyle rittenhouse and the hunter biden situation)

id personally be really sad to see that go

-stuff-
4chan is purely counter-culture out of spite, simply cause they can be. when gays, traps, cross-dressing, and other forms of "degeneracy" were taboo or otherwise unspoken about in mainstream society, thats what 4chan was all about. but now, that culture is in and society is fully embracing it, so 4chan thinks its cool to be pure trad christian and push the white people thing because thats the actual counter culture now.

you have people that understand this, and people that dont understand this. thats the two sides as far as i can tell

timothy thibault resigned from the FBI yesterday. someone had to take the fall for the hunter biden thing so it was naturally going to be him and theres more out there but im still giddy about it. hopefully more follow

honestly, i don't think human beings are mentally competent enough individually or collectively to handle that much potential energy. any organism that has the potential to act self-destructively and irrationally at any moment cannot safely handle nuclear weapons. it would be awesome if we, as an organic species, recognized how flawed not just we are, but every other living creature is, and made the decision to never allow anyone or anything to activate a nuclear scenario.
im willing to agree with this. i find myself acknowledging how often it seems people not only want to ignore but outright reject the animalistic qualities humans still very much have. it seems some evolutionary quality with have to be put in place to cull the richard swinging and the borderline loveual prowess that being the "top dog" stands for, if that makes sense.

the people that studied, invented and designed the first nuclear weapons are no longer alive today. they've left behind a technology capable of wiping out most life on earth, and a generation of people who don't fully understand how to control it and never will.
the forgeted up thing is that they knew this too. they knew exactly what they created, what it was capable of, and who exactly they were giving their legacy to. that had to be a thought on oppenheimers mind as he was giving his "now i am become death" speech. they probably died thinking the world would by scorched by now because of them.

honestly i can't wait for the day wars are settled in a match of fortnite or arma 3
honestly as gay as that sounds on a world stage you'd think they'd be down lol. i love to think that had to be suggested in some semi-serious/joking way at least once in the war room.

hopefully, nuclear weapons are never used on human targets again
its hard for me to imagine such a thing would ever happen in our life time. we've come close (cuban missle crCIA close), but i think world leaders understand the consequence they face at using nukes. hiroshima and nagasaki definitely gave the world a picture of what nuclear warfare would really be like for everyone on earth, not just those on the frontline. because of that image, i dont think any currently living world leader would entertain that being a stain on their history or conscience. for now at least.

27
the US certainly isn't the beacon of peace when it comes to warfare. after all, the country remains the only one in the world to have used nuclear weapons against human targets, not just once but twice.
not to butt into the conversation since i currently haven't read the discourse between you two, but i am interested: whats your take on this, strategically? do you see it as justified or no? im of the mindset it was a necessary evil and was softened by Americas immediate relief efforts to build back Japan. i can understand that being seen as either a good or bad thing, since the reasoning could be debated that it was because even America was surprised by their own destruction, or because they saw it as an opportunity to shoe horn in their western hegemony, it still seems like it was a wildly successful effort as Japan was flourishing by the 80s per my understanding. they definitely had Americas youth by the balls with their own cultural influence. IDK, just kinda interested on your thoughts there.

it’s insane so few people are talking about this and instead babbling about transgenders or ‘putler’
people have been pointing this out for the past 6 years. hell i could argue it's been discussed for the past 20. but it wasn't until 2017 you started getting called a right winger or conspiracy nut for pointing it out, so that might be why people just rolled over on it

Child predators should face the wall, and it's a massive problem on the platform that needs addressing, but otherwise I enjoy discord for the services it provides. I never join massive servers, and If I do, it's for one express purpose and I have 0 desire to interact with anyone inside of it. I have no incentive to move to another platform as discord provides everything I need with no hassle.
pretty much this. i will never forget that creep/dog loving situation. any friend request i get that is not someone i know is instantly ignored and being a part of any of the communities is just a no go for me. i will say though, the best thing i've found about discord so far is that it is a loving bomb ass file hosting tool. like if you just need to hotlink images and download links for addons or something? make your own discord server and upload them there. anyone can download straight from the links it provides and they don't need to be in your server to do it
