Jaakko thinks just for a moment about what had just happened, and feels how disconnected he is with the events proceeding a few minutes ago, he has no problems not thinking about it, for right now at least.

He pants in pain.

"I- uh," he stutters.

"Sure," he whimpers.

Jaakko hears squawking on the radio, a feminine voice. Reaches up to his helmet and pulls it on.

"I'm here," he moans.

He raises the visor so that he can actually see inside the bridge. His split chin makes it uncomfortable to wear the helmet without the wound searing.

Jaakko curses and grunts as he actually starts to feel the extent of his injuries. He finds his chin stings, and the salt in his sweat starts to make the wound burn. Much to his annoyance, bruising on his torso starts to hurt, all the while the marine works over his leg. Any manipulation is painful.

He remembers briefly a thing his father had told him about gunshot wounds.

There are two kinds of gunshot wounds, those that hurt and those that kill.

He grits his teeth and pounds on the floor. It is easily the worst pain of his life.

"MG in the hall!" Jaakko cries, writhing and scooting away from the doorway.

The blood from his chin starts staining his collar, while his leg starts to show signs of bleeding. He takes labored breaths, still recovering from loosing his wind.

Jaakko screams and collapses. His leg won't work quiet right, and he feels that there is something that went through it. A hot sting, but no pain. He is more in shock of the odd loss of function in his leg than actual pain. It doesn't stop him from releasing a litany of obscenities though.

Jaakko aims and lays into the Imperial soldier directly across from him. His body fills the sight. He remains pressed against the wall, not exposing himself to the MG.

Jaakko checks the left side of the hall, as much as he can see without exposing himself. He checks it through the sight of the gun.

"See anything your side?" he asks the marine.

Jaakko takes a shot at an Imperial on the left side of the hallway with a short controlled burst, this time aiming. He is unfazed by the shot that nearly hit him, as the combination of hearing loss and indiscriminate cracking and snapping of bullets make it hard for him to deduce where shots are landing near him.

Jaakko hurls some obscenities before crouching and firing an automatic burst down the hallway. He fires as he is leaning in to aim, but it does not aid him in any way. Shells eject onto his suit's Nomex skin, and do not burn him- or at least he didn't notice if they did.

The barrel of the gun jutts into the hallway but most of Jaakko's mass is hidden behind the wall. He has best vision of the left side of the hallway, that is, as best vision you can have in a smoke-filled hallway.

Jaakko cannot identify the grenade. He screams and tries to kick the grenade back down the hallway. He is reduced to only reactions with little to no time to actually think.

He tries to roll back and take complete cover behind the wall he is on to shield himself from whatever the grenade is. (That is, if that action can be taken this turn,)

"HiComs gonna gut me over that Fenrir," he remarks.

He familiarizes himself with the SMG, stuffing the extra magazines wherever they'll fit in his vest, dumping out some snacks and pittle packs to make room. He checks his sidearm, and casts his pilot bag aside.

The more observant of those in the room may notice that Jaakko is infact wrong-handed. He walks to the door and imitates the actions and positions of the Marine watching it. He takes the right side of the door, hiding most of his mass behind the wall.
