there needs to be some sort of compromise. someone can't just be shot for holding a wallet and the world just says 'oh well it looked like a gun. time to move on'

obviously his life is now forgeted up, probably had to undergo months of training to walk again, traumatic disorder, etc. 'hopefully this mistake won't happen' is a terrible plan for anything.

You should look up videos of cops playing it risky / not having their guard up, and getting killed because of it
You'll probably see why there isn't a "compromise"

as a police officer with the potential to end a life in an instant, you're not supposed to go into this situation ready to shoot anything that remotely looks suspicious. its obvious that if this kind of stuff can happen that easy, they need to be trained differently, or there needs to be some sort of measure the police take first before immediately shooting.

keep in mind that if a police officer is entitled to kill someone for holding an object in their hands, that means that the police officer is 10x more legally powerful than the average person.

The thing is, you'd be dead if you "took some sort of measure before immediately shooting" if that was a gun.

What did you do

Some friends of mine sent deaththreats to some furry in the school, a cringy one who expresses himself very.. openly.
They told me that they convinced him he was hacked by making an email one letter off, and if I wanted to send a message, so I did with the intent on clearing it up after school just briefly incase things got out of hand.
Well, they did. Friends sent deaththreats before and after my message without telling me, and I was lumped in / attempted to be charged with those threats despite my email message saying explicity "your biggest worry is your bandcamp page getting hacked"

Same thing happened to me when my school tried to have me arrested and charged / successfully expelled me (but the schoolboard let me come back) for 'Endangerment'
The principle questioned me relentlessly about the same exact thing and when I wouldn't admit it, she got all pissy, and called my parents up, telling them I did it anyway
I was lucky the police didn't question like that :v

Keep in mind, this is the same company that pushes an update every Wednesday, without changelog, and if they have nothing useful to update they'll find something to update.

They broke Team Creates this last week. They wouldn't update script changes for the longest time.
