This is what I've decided on as far as placement of the house/detached garage.

If anyone is interested in drawing out a topographic map of an idea for the yard, I can draw up what's there so far and where the path will go (steepness/stairs/everything else of path TBD)

Suggestions & Requests / Zone In Zone Mod
« on: August 05, 2015, 01:35:28 AM »
I tried searching with no luck. I want to place a window pane (a zone brick) inside a 64x zone cube. Normally this results in an Overlap error. Is there any way to deactivate this or could someone make an add-on to allow this brick placement?
Water bricks in a zone cube would also be helpful if there's any difference between a zone window and the zone water.

I have to say, the separate added on garage will make this look A LOT better.
I agree

Amazing, looks like the house of my neighbor, but red
Thanks! I used to like to think my house was one of a kind but your neighbor's messing that up haha

What a nice fancy house you have here. I'm confused as to why you made your garage look like that though. Other than that I think Dark Grey looks good. (・ω・)
Haha I'm starting to think I should rename the topic to "The Fancy House". I thought the garage would look cool if it was done under the deck rather than 64+ bricks down a hill. I'm gunna try building a garage like irl and see if I can get it to come out right, if I can I'll try building the path down to the garage and we'll see how it turns out.

Like Bester Bageler said, the button could be more round. This is the 'formula' as such that I use for circles made with squares.

There's a circle generator add-on for BL. All you have to do is say "gencircle [size]" in chat.

ocrap i thought we were voting on the wall colors because i didnt read and accidentally voted blue

very nice, i like the way the pathway winds like that
Haha great job. The exterior shingles are going to remain brown. The interior is set up so a fill can will paint all of that room (painting a neighboring room the same color will mess that up, obviously).
Thanks, the pathway and the yard around/inside it took the longest of anything because I had to figure out where to start/stop the curving parts, where to stop the stairs, how many stairs, how to get the grass to curve upwards, how big and how long the retaining wall inside the 180° path curve, etc...

Go for dark grey, that makes it look a stuffton better.
I was thinking the same thing.

1) Use the circle generator.
2) Check a torus generator for Minecraft or something and use the top-outside part as the edge/base of the button.
3) If you build it big enough, build the letters out of bricks and have it integrated to the red surface. If it's really big have it one flat above the red surface.
4) Speaking of the red surface...isn't it supposed to be slightly convex?

Looks great, maybe consider taking screenshots with megashot to get rid of that aliasing.
Thanks, and I'll give it a shot.. When I insert the console command, I get a syntax and an evaluation error.

That's one fancy house you have there. Consider using wedges to smooth out the curves.
Any interior shots?
I was thinking of wedges, but then that messes up the shingles. That, and when you look at my actual deck its the same way. I think I might use that new rope add-on to make the railing but if I used wedges for that it'd be way too wide. The interior shots are coming, I want to add some furnishings first.

Damn, that garage area is incredibly interesting.  Makes me think of a boat for some reason, lol.
Every time someone sees our house they think its a boat so I can't blame you at all haha.

Many have dubbed this house the "Fancy House". It's a simple 3 bed, 1 1/2 bath house. The 2-car detached garage has a small room contained in the roof of the small structure with its own deck outside the entrance. A path connects the street and garage to the front porch of the house. The back yard has a patio with a large oak tree in the center. A path connects the back doors to the small pool on the side of the house. A mere 6,118 bricks went into this build and I am personally very proud of how the house turned out. The yard, not so much. If anyone would like to remake the yard, I'd be happy to compile the save and all necessary add-ons to load the build. At this point, I will be adding more details such as fences, more landscaping unless someone does the yard for me, and a detailed interior.

the 45° ones have been made already by space guy, but apparently the 25° corners are much more complex and harder to make
The 25° ones have been made already, as well. I'm positive they have because I have a save missing them. I did a little more digging and found mention of them having been made but I can't find the add-on itself. Is it possible its hidden in a brick pack?

I have the 45° ones now but I need the 25° asap.
