use a linux distro for awhile untill you can get windows
always a fun learning experience, sometimes a pain in the ass though

I would recommend Linux Mint or Ubuntu
Ubuntu kinda comes with some extras, but is the go to for most computers using linux
If you dont want to go into installing it to your HDD but still want to use it, then you can boot using the live version

WINE is an acronym for "Wine Is Not an Emulator". Its a compatibility layer software that uses a Windows API library to act as a bridge between Linux apps and Windows applications.  When a Windows application performs a function that Linux doesn't normally understand, Wine will translate that program's instruction into one supported by the system.
