Mapping Help / Re: Free .DIF's Made by me. Also a Sky.
« on: August 30, 2007, 05:35:16 PM »
Ok, 2 things.

Firstly the texturing is ugly as hell and looks like it uses Torque textures.

Secondly, I see clipping. Thats where 2 faces intesect and are coplanar. Thats bad.

I have nothing against you (if the above seems aggressive) but I am just trying to help you improve.

Some tips...

>Assuming your using constructor, use the album tool and create a new album called "Blockland" and go to the directory Base>data>shapes and press the button to upload all.

>Also make a folder called "Terrains" and upload all the interior image files from base>data>interiors.

>Make sure no object's faces overlap. This prevents the ugly line glitch and saves lag when you have complex interiors.

I swear, one TV or magazine ad would create a great wave of newcomers meaning new players and tremendous profit for BS so he can live/ develope his next game.

General Discussion / Re: Blocked From School
« on: August 30, 2007, 05:24:07 PM »
While I applaud you for liking BL forums so much that you wish to view them in school, I must say I despise you so much more.

Why?

Because its fools like you who try to break the system to go to forums and their favourite sights sites or play games that ruin it for everyone else. Not saying I have never played a game on a school comp...but because of all the crap you and others around the nation do, our IT policies are so strict that they inhibit actual work.

Sadly its another case where the innocent get punished while the wrongdoers carry on. Any blocks or systems they put in place can usually be bypassed by those wrongdoers however those that want to visit ligitimate sites for good reasons often get stopped by the very countermeasures that are meant to stop the wrongdoers.

My school has become so strict on IT policy that the installation of any software is prohibited and blocked on all levels and you can't DL anything. Huge waves of sites are blocked based on broad keywords and other restrictive measures.

You have no reason to go on BL or other forums during school, theres plenty of time to do so at home. Don't ruin what little IT priveleges we have by bringing about more securtiy measures.

I understand that it was affensive and i'm sorry so i changed fat guy to giant.

Wow....giant is so much more sensitive than fat guy. [sarcasm]

The PC term is obese but I think I would rather be called fat. And its not a disease, its a condition.

While I am pleased to hear you think its better than Gmod 10 space map I think that it is more of a pro's and con's situation.

My map...

>Much, much larger for everything, distance, planets, ect.
>Much more detail for outer planets (the spheres have more faces and better textures)
>Terrain is flat and featureless (may change)
>contains all planets and more

Gmod version...

>smaller map
>space gravity is spherical in the sense that it extends out with a diameter.
>Life support mod, allows for construction of breathable atmostpheres ect.
>Terrain, has lakes and hills.
>contains most planets.

In the end, I think I prefer the Gmod version but its no longer updated and doesnt function that well anymore.

Looks good. Any chance we might see different doors like sliding ones (think blast doors and such) ?

Also, door knob should be a bit smaller I think.

Are doors destroyable?
