So...no animation eh?

I am taking a guess here and say....it changes the DTS shape? Like switching between an open and a close model?

However (if i'm right) doest that mean that it won't swing open but just appear open? Unless you plan on having many door frames.

Well...I was putting together a decal pack and it had some holograph style ones in it. Not anywhere near as interesting as the particle thing but atleast you know its nots going anywhere (unless you guys fix the particle rotation thing).

Drama / Re: Everyone but me is lucky.

Don't we have a drama section for this?

I thought Off-topic was for spam and stuff and Drama was for whining and bitching?
What's the difference? :cookieMonster:

Difference is that you whine and complain in the Drama section.

Interesting/cool/spam/everything else goes in the off-topic section.

More like, you had no idea what Wedge was trying to explain.

Your not even a part of this conversation. GTFO.

And yes, I did know what wedge was talking about.

I got banned because I didn't join a minigame before I spawned...

Well...I feel your pain.

I mean...that never happened to me, but I hate it when I join a server and the host says "join mini or ban".

I remember one time, an admin said that to me and he gave me less than a second to do it. I was trying to ask why but he banned me before I could finish typing. :(

Modification Help / Re: Exporting to dts from sketchup.
« on: August 29, 2007, 05:16:50 PM »
Oh....just remembered.

The free version of Sketchup (google version) will not export to 3D formats. You need the commericial version to do that.

If you dig thru their site (trust me...its not as easy as it sounds) you can find a 450 hour demo for it. Just open up the file in there and export then close.

Mega city, complete with residential neighborhoods, downtown area, harbor, mountain zone, race track and more.

I even made a custom map for it (gonna release soon).

Project is a bit too large but I try....  :)

Another caveat about DLing user-created scripts directly from server is that it would likely overwrite original scripts.

For instance, say you join a server and you have this suggested mod on. If the host (being an idiot) modified his jeep script to make it super-fast or something and didn't give it a new name...it would overwrite your existing files.

That is, of course, on top of all the other problems we talked about like safety, privacy and such.

I think just some normal smiley faces and sad faces would be nice....I don't see why we are stuck with all these practically useless emotes like a cookie and the cookie monster.

I'm sure someone would be willing to make some better/new ones if BS agreed to put the good ones in. Perhaps an emote creation contest?

And you don't like me.
RW has 1080, he's not handicapped. He's just an egomaniac. :cookieMonster:

Erm...thanks...

Anyway I agree, the process/policy is fundamentally flawed in that ones ID # is in no way a deciding factor for "handicappedness".

I got my 1080 ID with that special $10 deal, doesnt seem fair to me to be banned for waiting for a good deal or for (like in the case of other people) learning about BL later.

Nice to see BS's support on the issue.

The 4 windows are different views of the same model.

Typically you have a front view (top left window), a right side view (right, top window) and a birds-eye view (bottom left view).

These are customisable in milkshape from pull down windows.

Why are they there?

Good question. When make a model, typically you have to use all or some of the viewports for selecting vertices (those dots) and for moving them.

I often find that when working on a complex model, it may be impossible to select a certain vertex from the top view...but the right side view makes it easy.

Also note that what viewport you use detirmines how you can move a vertex. So, if you use the birds-eye view, you won't be able to move the vertex along the z axis.

The last and most important viewport is the 3D one. This allows you to see the mesh (another word for 3D model) as it should appear in the game. I find switching this viewport to mesh mode makes selecting vertices easier. Flat shaded mode makes moving vertices easier to see and textured mode if good for texture allignment
