Games / Xbox 360: Cannot connect to XBOX live

my xbox screen looks like this
connecting the ethernet cable into my laptop
xbox.com hasnt been doing anything and neither has google, youtube, etc.
when i plug in the ethernet cable the computer doesnt recognize it. theres no local area connection in my network settings
im using this
I've tried a bunch of different ways and no luck.
help?

Yesterday I could just type one letter in the web address line and it would suggest a site that I've been to a lot.
Now it won't.
I checked my history. After 5 minutes it didn't load.
I checked my bookmarks. All of the icons are blank.
It's working now but now it takes 2 minutes to load one page.

If someone you're subscribed to uploads a video, you won't be able to see it in your sub box now.
This sucks. Though I follow my subscriptions on twitter so it's no problem for me; unless they have no twitter which most of them don't.

Crysis: console edition is the pc-exclusive wide open shooter coming to consoles. There will be some new features, such as remastered lighting.
