what the person in the op was doing was parading around wearing pink or something (not sure, op wasn't clear) so of course he's trying to get attention. if someone just says "i'm gay" then nobody will say anything even remotely close to that
has nobody ever said 'no homo' or 'i'm not gay dude' really loud in public to seem like they're cool and Hip.no. they haven't.
they say it if someone calls them gay or similar.
example: hey wanna kiss

Ever seen or heard of a kid who came out and you said "wow I never knew that" that's because they don't fit the stereotype. There most likely tons of gay kids in your school, town, etc. That you don't even know are gay, because they don't act like the stereotype. So to say "all gay people" just doesn't make sense, as you don't have a full list of all the homoloveual people you know / associate with.um
