I know what it means, but I have yet to see the Syrian army chant it.
All muslims start there prayers and say allahu akbar many times during prayer. I cant believe you are basing who to give weaponry to by how many times they say god is great. In arabic this is our way of saying oh my god, which everyone says all over america. The syrian soldiers dont say it because they are godless men. Many of them are not muslims and are just thugs and mercenaries. Search for the video where they bury the free syrian army fighter alive. As he says la illaha illa allah, or "there is no god but god", they yell at him to say "there is no god but bashar", who is syrias president.

The Middle East was a terrible stuffhole before World War 2. Stop pretending everything was so fine and dandy. Islam is an intolerant, violent religion, and anyone who denies that is blinder than a bat.
If you want to debate about my religion, then bring it on. As someone who is a Muslim and has studied it, I must disagree.

I don't even have to debate in fact, they did it on Oxford Unions youtube page. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jy9tNyp03M0 . Just click through the related videos to get the counter arguments. There are billions of Muslims. Unlike Christianity, Islam is a religion that you have to put work in to be granted heaven, and because of this most muslims read the quran and put much more effort into their religious devotions. With billions of followers, you would think at least a few million muslims would be out there killing everyone in sight, based on your perception of Islam.

I hate to discuss religion at all on here, but when an idiotic statement like yours is spoken to defend the atrocities foreign countries have committed against us, then I have to stop you right then and there.

It's not like you guys haven't been doing that already for hundreds and thousands of years even before the crusades. :)
Doing what already? Making breakthroughs in science, art, medicine, and mathematics? Who is "you guys"? Don't group me up with every Arab/Muslim out there. We all have our own opinions and don't see eye to eye with each other on everything. Just like America.

The countries of the middle east are great at killing each other and we don't need to spend money and American lives to get involved.
GEE. I WONDER WHY THE MIDDLE EAST IS SO CHAOTIC. ITS NOT LIKE ANY FOREIGN COUNTRIES WERE THE CAUSE OF IT...

actually
"US Public opinion opposed to military invention in Syria"
hes kinda right though.

a lot of people oppose any intervention.  i strongly oppose it because we cannot afford something like this right now while our country is still not as strong as it should be economically
i also oppose military intervention as well. However, letting everyone get killed without batting an eyelash is just inhumane in my book.

"We" tends to mean more than one person if you weren't smart enough to get that.
"we should let the middle east destroy itself"
Your barbaric opinion does not represent what most american people think. You use "we" as if you represent the usa, and that is idiotic.

why is this the top comment
because anything about the middle east attracts anti islamic commenters.
Seriously, we shouldn't even be in there. We should let the middleeast destroy itself.
who is we. The usa is not you, so go away.

dunno. prob oil lol.

both russia and the us have kept their cold war era 3rd world friends around just to spite the other.
but syria is like ultra close allies with them.

it does give russia the only excuse to stroll their navy around the mediterranean as well.
Syria is like Russia's only ally in the region. Russia wants influence in the Middle East. It's not really about oil.

Btw the US is a big hypocrite as always on this: "Of course the hypocrisy is extraordinary. The United States has apparently rediscovered the significance of the ethics and laws of war, but in Syria - not Guantanamo. The US snoops on the world's email and does nearly nothing about a bloody coup in Egypt but tells us we should all be especially shocked about a few hundred deaths from a chemical attack in Syria.

In 1988, the US supplied Iraqi officials with the location of Iranian troops with full knowledge that the Iraqis would use the information to launch nerve gas attacks."
Source: Aljazeera

I have doubts that Al Assad would be behind this chemical attack, even though while the chemical missiles were being dropped, regular artillery strikes were also accompanying them. This may have been the work of some of the rebels but the problem is, there are many different types of rebels. Some are extremists while some are army defectors and regular civilians who are fighting for freedom.

Edit: Oh yeah, and screw anyone who is calling for a region wide leveling of an entire population. I despise people who even jokes about these kinds of things. You idiots have no say in who nukes what, so get out. Your asinine opinions are irrelevant.

Also, there is nothing "dope" about seeing people get killed in an explosion. Does anyone have a sense of sympathy anymore?

Yes I have seen this before and I still stand by what I said. If things were different, if they were affluent and we locked in a civil war slowly grinding ourselves to nothing they would not send aid. Their children will be raised the same way. It's how life goes.
Wow wow, hold on there. This isn't about aid. I'm not advocating aid for anyone or help for the syrians, what I am trying to promote is some awareness about this. Anyway, US aid isn't sent for the better of the people, it is sent for the better of US interests. In fact, I hope this entire thing can be solved without the US even getting involved. It is kind of the USA's fault though since they have quite clearly established themselves as the worlds police. Anyway, I can't believe this is the reasoning you provide for not giving a stuff about these people's lives. Don't look at color, nationality, or religion please. Look at the bigger picture.

I cant bring myself to feel bad for them because I know if the roles were reversed they would leave us to rot.
huh? have you not seen this picture? these are people in the middle of this civil war who took the time to do this. if you aren't going to feel bad for the fighters, at least feel bad for the children who are getting killed mercilessly. The way I see it, we are all human beings. and we all come from a common ancestor. This may sound cliche a bit, but come on. Why are there people who just don't give a crap about this stuff. I can't watch the news anymore without tearing up, while people just dismiss thousands of deaths in a single moment.

Holy stuff. Everyday I just get more and more sad about whats going on in Syria. And now the US is getting ready to attack as well. In the end, its just more innocents getting killed.
