I don't get it

What are they foreshadowing?
This expansion is aimed at teen girls.
Teens, most teens that I deal with every day, are the exact opposite of friendship. All they care about is love, violence, drugs (mostly alcohol and weed and that sort of stuff), stuffty music (i.e. Nicki Menaj, who wrote a song that goes "Stupid hoe stupid hoe stupid hoe stupid hoe" over and over). They care about fashion and looks and they don't give a stuff who you are as a person. They are unbelievably shallow, and often horribly mean-spirited. This is what I have gathered from those around me. There are exceptions, of course, but those are few in number.
You get the idea. This show is going to attempt to turn the ponies toward a teenage audience and in doing so could easily completely ruin what made the show good.
I love it when channels try to target their teenage audience, but only end up making fools of themselves.

Wait a minute...

Look at Twilight.
No wings.

I almost wonder if they aren't taking the show in two directions at once with the same characters. That would be pretty darn ridiculous. Split continuity presents a LOT of confusion, as evidenced by close brown townysis of the Legend of Zelda series timeline.

i saw that image

im dying
As am I.

I know a lot of teenage girls. All most of them are interested in is love, drugs, gossip, TV dramas, and similar such things. Teenage girls (in my area at least) and true friendship are MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE.

which and whose track record?
because hasbro already broke their previous track record once friendship is magic was released

as made obvious by this fandom
Good point, although I'd say that this particular show is more a result of Faust's ingenuity than Hasbro's stuff.
As long as this "new" show gets good storywriters who can make it work, I suppose it'll still be all right.

depending on what the show is actually about, a crossover could be fun
some have speculated that it will be a cutie mark crusader spin-off, possibly set in the future, some think humans

it could even be a Crystal Empire spin-off

panicking over NO details is simply moronic
True, I suppose it might actually work. I just don't see how they could improve given their track record here.

Does anyone else feel like curiosity is an evil hand clawing at your brain?
Yes.
it sounds like people are panicking about this announcement more than being excited about it
not sure why

i'd be willing to bet money the new IP is going to be called "Equestria Girls"
but i wonder who it is about, where it is set, and when
It better not crossover into the main series, because that would absolutely bomb the entire show.
We're panicking because we would rather they left well enough alone. Remember, if you hammer that nail in hard enough, eventually the board will break.
guys

im

im scared
So am I.

don't save the terrain, only the blocks that are placed in the chunk
and since the terrain will be generated the same again, check if theres any blocks saved for the chunk and then load them
But what if people are modifying the terrain?
Make sure the culling system is optional.

Too bad that one is fake. I honestly don't think a permanent change will be good for the show at all.
I just think there's too many problems it creates.
I guess we have to wait and see...

Ooh what job you looking at getting Blasty?

I need one too :c
I should probably get one, but I don't have the level of free time necessary.
I have too much free time and yet altogether not enough.

Everything looks beautiful. Hopefully you can make a script that saves a chunk as a .bls and then loads it when the player enters an adjacent chunk or somewhere farther and then saves chunks as .bls when a player gets too far away. That would help with brick count and such. I am still looking forward to islands as well, but keep up the good work!
And this would be unlike minecraft how?
Point is it's pretty darn intensive to load things like that. It's DEFINITELY not the best way to handle that.

General Discussion / Re: SCP Containment Breach! [New Poll]

Just like some basic info for those who don't know what SCP is.

"SCP was started to contain strange and dangerous natural and unnatural phenomenon. On February 3, 2013, the facility had a containment breach. All employees of the facility were ordered to leave and the building was sealed off. Some didn't make it out and thus, are now trapped inside."

Secure.
Contain.
Protect.

if they taped a cutie mark on to their ass then they are not geniuses.
it will remain a fact that they are mentally disabled and unable to get a cutie mark.

there are people with no talents lol
Didn't Faust confirm that all adult ponies have cutie marks when asked about an animation blooper related to a few background "blank-flanks"?

if a pony is born mentally disabled, do they still get a cutie mark? :o
Of course they do. It takes absolute brain-death to keep someone from having any talents at all.
In the words of Einstein, “Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.”
she's not mentally disabled
Exactly. There is no evidence whatsoever for a mental disability. The word has just been used with such a connotation so much that it's turning into that.
