i tried to go low level with directsound too and was greeted by the same problem.
not trying fmod. if they cant get the download right there is no hope for the rest of the library. so many versions, what does studio mean, what does EX mean. what is the difference, which one contains the library to code with? forget em, im not some library wizard.

I'm getting screens right now, and what am I doing? I simply am. I don't have to do anything. Map loads and boom. C++ errors and go foop yourself. I loaded once. Instacrashed ,,because why not'' minutes after. We're trying to track the file, that causes the whole thing, but there's quite a bit of it. Can you help with it?
Attached screen. It ussually poops two of them, but now it simply freezed and I had to Alt+Ctrl+Del it. :/
