Description
Ever wanted to play Blockland with a Minecraft feel to it?  Then this is the server for you!  With the best administrators I'm able to find, the best quality add-ons and the best hosting service, I can guarantee low lag and a great Minecraft experience in Blockland.  When playing on the server, you simply spawn, choose what Minecraft blocks you want to build with, and start building your Minecraft terrain.  Also, don't worry about the server crashing and your build being deleted forever.  The build is automatically saved every sixty minutes.  I guarantee that you will not be disappointed.  Unless of course you don't like the idea of a game inside another game.  Then you just don't have to join.

Rules
There are some rules and guidelines on the server to ensure the best server environment.

1.  Blend in with the existing terrain.  We don't want it to look all weird and stupid.
2.  Use only Minecraft blocks, 64x64 baseplates, print cubes and zone bricks when building (some exceptions will be made for non-existing blocks).  We don't want Blockland blocks in Minecraft.
3.  Do not place underground blocks!  This will only use up the brick count and lag the server.
4.  No spamming.  You're only going to lag the server.
5.  No foul language or profanity.  I know we all curse and make inappropriate jokes sometimes, but there will almost definitely be children.
6.  Obey administrators.  They know what they're doing.
7.  Respect people.  Don't make fun of their "crappy" builds.
8.  Do not join the server simply to inform me that it's stupid.  Just don't join.

Punishments:
1.  Destruction of build.  If your build doesn't obey the rules, it shouldn't be there.

3.  Destruction of build and banishment for sixty minutes.  You're only lagging the server and making the server experience worse for other people.

5.  Banishment for twenty four hours.  Foul language is taken seriously.
6.  Longest non-permanent banishment possible.  Seriously, we know what we're doing.

Want to become an administrator on the server?
Anyone that I see that are trustworthy and join the server often can become an administrator.
If these things apply to you, you might be given moderator.  If you continue, you'll become an administrator.  Super administrator is rarely handed out, so don't get your hopes up.

Donate
Currently, there is no donation system set up.
Once RTB activates it's donation system, donating will become possible.

How donation works:
If you donate six dollars or more, you will receive VIP.

VIPs get:
- A tag put in front of their name that says "VIP".
- Builds that violate rules are not destroyed immediately, but are instead given a one week warning.
- VIPs may build in the nether terrain as soon as it's set up.

The VIP system is still a WIP and not yet set up.
The donation system will also be set up within the next few weeks.





REQUEST:  If someone can make an add-on that allows super admins to override build trust, that would be nice.

Help / RTB Hosting Add-On Re-Download

I uploaded a custom game mode add-on to the Return to Blockland Dedicated Hosting Service and deleted the game mode on my desktop by accident.
I now want to make some modifications to the game mode, but I don't have it on my desktop.
Is there anyway to re-download an add-on from the Hosting Service?

Help / How do I host a dedicated server running version 21 on my desktop?

I have a desktop computer and wan't to run a simple dedicated server on it.
I use to have a dedicated server thumbnail, but deleted it when I started using Return to Blockland.
I now want to host a second server at the same time, but would like to save money.
How do I simply host it on my desktop?

Classic Raceway is a new racetrack for the default speedkart gamemode.  Race in a colorful, fast and easy track that you and your nineteen racer friends will enjoy!  When you try out this map, you will not be dissapointed (NOT A GARENTEE).

Put SpeedKart_Classic_Raceway into the Add-Ons folder in your Blockland folder.

Introduction
As said in the title, it's a block party with the theme of Minecraft.  Yes, this is a server in Blockland, so don't say that this belongs in off topic.

Many of the default add-ons have been removed to make it as much like Minecraft as possible.  Many extra add-ons have been added, and are always being searched for, to give you a better Minecraft experience in Blockland.  Add-ons are listed farther below.

Rules
Yes, like all servers, there are rules that you must obey.
These rules are not listed in the server itself, as I'm having trouble with the rules add-ons.  It won't show up in preferences.
But, these are the current rules.

1.  Blend in with the terrain next to you.
2.  Use only Minecraft blocks, 64x64 baseplates and 64x64 zones (I will make some exceptions for blocks that are not included in the brick pack).
3.  No flat land; all terrain must have some type of unique terrain design.
4.  Any build that me and the rest of the admins on the server do not consider a "quality" build can and probably will be destroyed.
5.  Respect admins on the server.
6.  Don't like the idea of Minecraft in Blockland?  Don't join!  You don't need to complain about soPhysician Prescribed Desoxyning that is not mandatory.
7.  All nether portals must use setPlayerTransform to send them to the nether terrain area.
8.  Do not add underground materials (stone, dirt, sandstone, ores, etc.); this takes up the brick count and makes the server lag.
9.  If you have any complaints, please contact me via PM.  All complaints in the comments will be ignored.

(Some of you may have one name on Blockland and another on the forums.  If so, discuss both.)

My story (you might want to grab a blanket and some coffee):

I heard about Blockland from my little brother's friend's older brother back when it was still in beta back in January of 2007.  I then enjoyed the demo for about two months.  I then officially got my own Blockland key in March of 2007 receiving the Blockland Identification of 6959.

I then had my first name, which was Blockhead6959, of course.  After about three months, I found out how to change my name.  I decided to make my name Dum Pirite (please don't laugh, I was only seven years old at the time, and yes, I spelled them both wrong).  Strangly enough, my avatar was a pirate.  According to RTB, my name was at some point great572, skata dude4587 and cod black ops.  I don't have any memory of these, but I do believe that they were from when friends came over and had their turn playing Blockland...and changed my name without permission!

I one day decided to make my name Spongebob Squarepants.  Surprisingly, the name was not yet taken.  Shortly afterwards, I was banned from server.  The reason said, "Go back to your s***ty pineapple and die!"  After running and crying to my parents, I got back on Blockland.

I then went back to Dum Pirite and kept that name for about two years.  But then, one day, I met a player on a city build server named Clone.  I thought the name was pretty cool, and I wanted it to be my name.  However, he already the name, of course, so I couldn't do that.

The name Clone2 was then born on Thursday, January 1, 2009, at 2:35 PM...

...and it's stuck for the past five years....

A long time ago, I noticed a topic.
A topic created by a man who was stupid.
A stupid man who liked Macs.

Here's what he had to say with come-backs from me (I have hidden the creators name so he doesn't have any shame):

Here's why macs are better:

1.  They never get viruses.  Not true.  A virus can easily be obtained if you don't have anti-virus software.

2.  They have better graphics.  That depends on your graphics card, not the operating system.

3.  Safari is lightning fast.  Firstly, NO!  Secondly, Safari can be gotten on Windows here.

4.  They almost never crash.  I have Windows 7 and have yet to crash.  Plus, the only people that crash 24/7 are the morons with too much crap on their hard drive.

5.  They have better apps.  What?

6.  They have high quality sound.  That depends on your audio card and speakers, not the operating system.

7.  They have better compatibility with iPods, iPhones, iPads, Apple TVs, etc.  That's because they're all made by Apple.

8.  They have a faster processing speed.  Are you sure that you're talking about Macs here?

9.  Dashboard.  Are we talking about computers or cars?

10.  They use less electricity, therefore they are green computers.  Not necessarily.  That has everything to do with the computer and nothing to do with the operating system.

Please discuss this HIDDEN man's stupidity.

Introduction
     On Friday, February 24, 2007, Blockland was officially finished and released to the public.  That was almost six years ago.  I'll be hosting a celebration party on Sunday, February 24, 2013.  This party will be a very simple dance party in a dark room at night.  The server will be well supervised by moderators, administrators, super administrators and, of course, the host, me!  We hope that you enjoy the party and have the time of your blockhead life!

General Discussion / Blockland - A Copy of Minecraft and Roblox? If you think so...YOU'RE STUPID!

I've been looking around the internet, and people keep on saying that Blockland is a copy of Roblox and Minecraft.  This really needs to be discussed.

I have found some strong evidence that proves that this isn't true, and that it might actually be the other way around:
- Blockland came out in 2004, Minecraft came out in 2009 and Roblox came out in 2006.
- I could see people saying that Blockland is a copy of Roblox, but, "Roblox came out in 2005" "Blockland came out in 2004."  If anything, Roblox is a copy of Blockland.
- Minecraft is more centered on survival, Blockland is more centered on building and Roblox...I played it for five minutes and didn't get the point.
- On Blockland and Roblox, you can choose many differently shaped bricks, paint them any color and give them awesome effects.  On Minecraft, there's one block shape with different textures.
- Notice that any game that has "BLOCKS" is considered to be a copy of Minecraft...*sigh*
- Blockland has awesome textures, Minecraft is just a bunch of pixels and Roblox has the worst textures I've ever seen.
- On Roblox, you have to join servers threw the website, Blockland has a server list and you have to type in the I.P. address in Minecraft.
- Blockland has an add-on system, Minecraft will SOON have a modding A.P.I and as far as I know, Roblox as no modding A.P.I. or add-on system.
- Designing your Minecraft avatar is somewhat confusing for noobs, designing your Blockland avatar is easy and you have to pay money to get stuff for your Roblox avatar.
- Blockland has an event system, Minecraft is "powered by redstone" and Roblox does nothing.
- Blockland and Minecraft, yes, both have shadows, but Roblox doesn't.
- Blockland and Minecraft, yes, both have a day/night cycle, but Blockland's is optional and Roblox doesn't have one at all.
- You can edit your Blockland world, but you can only edit your superflat world in Minecraft.  You can edit your Roblox world, but it's super confusing.
- Minecraft has "mobs" (living creatures, such as pigs or zombies, in-game), Blockland and Roblox don't.
- You can change your Minecraft difficulty, but not your Blockland or Roblox difficulty.
- Blockland and Roblox servers are completely free, but if you want mulitple servers up on Roblox, you must buy builder's club.
- They say Roblox is free...YEAH RIGHT!  That's actually only for minimal options.  You have to pay a fee if you want a lifetime membership will full options.  With Blockland and Minecraft, it's one payment.
- Minecraft had an indev stage, an alpha stage, a beta stage and is currently in retail stage.  Blockland only had a beta stage and is now in retail stage.  I believe that the retail Roblox was released irremediably.
- Minecraft has major updates (1 to 2), minor updates (1 to 1.1) and bug fix updates (1 to 1.0.1).  Blockland has revisions.  I don't even know if Roblox has updates.
- Blockland wasn't developed by a company, just Badspot, Kompressor, and a little help from Ephialtes and Rotondo.  Minecraft was developed by Mojang.  Roblox was developed by The Roblox Company.
- Minecraft has snapshots (pretty much pre-releases) for every minor or major version coming up.  Blockland doesn't.  I don't even know if Roblox has updates.

This is some pretty strong evidence.  So, if you still believe that Blockland is a copy of Minecraft or Roblox after you've read this, please go screw yourself.
Discuss this.  If anyone has any other strong evidence, I will add it to the list.

No.  I had never heard of "The Block" when I had made this thread.
Me and Crêpe, however, have made a partnership, and most news you see in the videos comes from "The Block" now.

Why make this when we have a Blockland home page and a development section?
Because, instead of every day searching around the forums for a bunch of crap about how Rotondo is planning a secret V22, you can just come here, and watch the video in, at most, three minutes, instead of searching around the forums for hours.

Will Badspot, Ephialtes or Rotondo ever help you with these videos?
Most likely, the answer is no.

BLOCK PARTY

Information
     Because of the shader update, Badspot shut down his block party server and instead is now hosting a Pirate DM.  He did this because, of course, his server was meant for building terrain.  This would cause many, many shadows lagging up the server.  But, I believe that the shadows will just make the terrain look more awesome.  Although, the shadows are the reason that there's a rule that you can't build more than 64 blocks high above your 64x64 cube baseplate.  Plus, even if the shadows do lag you out, you can always turn them off.
     Basically, since Badspot's Block Party is shut down, mine is now up!  You will be able to enjoy all of the great times that you use to enjoy on Badspot's Block Party, the only difference is that there's more than just the default add-ons and the host has a different name.  Enjoy the server!
     Also, the server will be reset every week on Sunday.  All builds will be deleted when the server is reset.

     There will be a poll every week deciding which top add-on will be added to the server next.  These five add-ons come directly from the topic, ► RTB Weekly Top Picks.  Sometimes, there will be add-ons in the poll that aren't in the topic.  This can be for two reasons: It's either already on the server or an add-on that doesn't have one of the requirements.
     You can also request that add-ons be added to the server.  Any requests made will be added to the server after the server's reset.  There are only a few requirements.
     The requirements include:
     1.  Must be an official RTB hosted add-on (the only exception is music).
     2.  Cannot be an archived add-on.
     3.  Cannot be a game mode, a color set, a decal, an environment texture, a client-sided mod or in the bargain bin.
     4.  Cannot be in the list of add-ons with a bad CRCs.

     There are Admin Awards on this server.  They are similar to what Ephialtes did, "Badge of Quality."  Actually, they're pretty much exactly the same.  Just build soPhysician Prescribed Desoxyning that an admin thinks is totally amazing and you will find an Admin Award on your build next time that you join the server.

Rules
1.  Blend in with the environment.
2.  Don't overuse paint can FX.
3.  Don't spam (too many 1x1s, 1x1Fs, 1x1x5s, etc.).
4.  Don't lag the server with lights, emitters, items, vehicles, events, teledoors, prints or projectiles.
5.  Don't build more than 128 blocks higher than your 64x64 cube baseplate.
6.  Leave information next to your build including who made it and their BL_IDs.
