« on: November 16, 2011, 04:56:36 PM »
This is loving bullstuff. This is actually described as internet censorship bill for the United States, imposing restrictions on what we do on the internet. It's stirred up a huge controversy and has attracted protests from a host of major sites like Google, Zynga games, Tumblr, facebook, Reddit etc etc.

Don't want this stuff to happen? then

READ THIS

It's easy. you can protest too. go to

http://americancensorship.org/

fill out the box, and show congress that we do NOT want this to happen.

Post it on facebook, on google plus, twitter, anywhere you can, and help stop this. It's our responsibility. It's our freedom.

Off Topic / Of mice and men is an amazing story :c

I read the book in my freshman year as part of English 1, and I didn't pay much attention because I was uninterested in reading the book (Maintained the always stuffty middle school read group book mentality.). I found the copy buried in my history books today, and re-read the story. It really is amazingly written, despite in being less than a hundred pages. The plot was executed quite good, and you really do feel the characters. The ending was sad.

Has anyone else read this novel?

Off Topic / Westboro baptist to protest Steve Jobs Funeral
« on: October 09, 2011, 03:37:43 PM »
Anyone up for a riot?

Quote
(CBS/WTSP/AP) NEW YORK - The friends and family at Steve Jobs' funeral will apparently be joined by the serial funeral protesters of the Westboro Baptist Church.

Yes, the Westboro Baptist Church - the Kansas-based organization with a history of holding controversial and politically inflammatory protests - has announced that its members plan to picket the Apple co-founder's funeral, according to CBS affiliate WTSP.

The Washington Post notes that Margie Phelps was among several church members to tweet about Jobs' death.

"He had a huge platform," Phelps wrote. "...gave God no glory & taught sin."

Phelps is the daughter of church founder Fred Phelps.

Westboro Baptist Church has stirred widespread outrage with raucous demonstrations at the funerals of U.S. military service members. The group contends God is punishing the military for the nation's tolerance of homoloveuality.

On Wednesday, the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled against a Missouri town's funeral protest ordinance in favor of members of Westboro Baptist Church, saying peaceful picketing is protected by the right to free speech under the First Amendment.

Oh, the group announced the protest on Twitter via - yes, really - iPhone.

Quote
Westboro Baptist Church announced plans Wednesday night to protest Steve Jobs’s funeral, sending the message out. . .wait for it. . . via Twitter for iPhone.

Margie Phelps, daughter of the small church’s founder and the lawyer who represented the church during their First Amendment case at the Supreme Court, (which Westboro won,) was among the Phelps family members to use Apple products to Tweet about the death of the Apple co-founder.

“Westboro will picket his funeral. He had a huge platform; gave God no glory & taught sin,” Margie tweeted Wednesday night on her iPhone.

The Topeka, Kan. based church is mostly made up of Phelps family members but has risen to international infamy because of their funeral protests of celebrities and American soldiers. The church’s members believe that God punishes America for its tolerance of sin, including acceptance of homoloveuality.

The iPhone-wielding Westboro members seemed unable to find any irony in their embrace of the technology of a man they condemn. One church member even suggested that God was using Jobs to help advance the message of Westboro Baptist Church: “God used Steve Jobs to create amazing STUFF for WBC to preach,” wrote Shirley Phelps-Roper.

There are comments on that page from the phelps family, too.

« on: October 04, 2011, 09:51:45 PM »
It's probably been stated multiple times, but origin is god awful. I just hope the setup for all further origin games isn't the handicapped start three things to play one game and eat up all your memory thing they've got going with BF3.

Plus, the EULA is awful, friend system confusing and it's over complicated.

Why did EA have to go make another forget up and tarnish a good game like BF3 :c

I just finished watching it. My god, was it stupid. Apparently, after the south won the war, they took the alphabet and wrote it backwards, and that became english. The cold war was between the US and canada, because canada kept like 300 free slaves from the civil war. The commercials were so tribal, it was funny. And the way people acted was if god was the center of the universe and controlled everything in life. They even added amen to the end of the pledge of allegiance. The CSA almost allied with Riddler, but remained neutral. White people was also added to the pledge of allegiance.

I only watched it for the commercials, because those were funny.
