General Discussion / How Often do you Play Blockland?
« on: December 09, 2011, 05:44:40 PM »
Just tell us how often you play Blockland and share stories why.

When i first got Blockland I played it non-stop for about a year, then stopped playing for siX months. About a month ago I began playing on a daily basis again and have rediscovered how much fun this good old game is.

And, kind of off-topic here, but you may have noticed how I used a capital ecks in "siX." My ecks key is borked, so can someone tell me the alt code for a lowercase X? I only know uppercase and using "ecks" all the time is a bit hard to read.

Drama / Blatant Anti-Bronies
« on: November 29, 2011, 05:17:05 AM »
Here's the deal: I'm sick of seeing complete dumbasses outright flame MLP and bronies. It leads to nothing but flamewars. Sure, I think their fandom is a bit odd, but that's no reason to constantly hate on it because I have nothing better to do. Is a 4000 page thread about the show a bit over the top? You could say that, but it's their fandom; let them have it. It's that simple.

Here's a good example of dumbforgets that can't keep their opinion to themselves in the Minecraft thread:

You have a problem in general if you watch magical pony shows.
So loving true and im fed up with it
No it was pretty called for.

Not to mention its true.
^
^
I tried to talk some sense into them:
You are idiots in every sense of the word. Let the bronies have their fandom and quit flaming it, your stupid ways only result in flamewars. Honestly, I hope moderators begin banning users like you.
Why would he ban anyone for having an opinion?

It's obvious that you watch ponies.

I respect your opinion of the show, whether you enjoy it or dislike it; but you don't need to flaunt it around and start flamewars. I've noticed stuff like this coming from a few specific members, and they really need to stop.

TL;DR If you don't like bronies or MLP, keep it to yourself because it's likely to start a big argument.

Suggestions & Requests / Ball Playertpe
« on: November 19, 2011, 04:36:25 PM »
Could someone make the default ball into a playertype so you can roll around?

Properties I think it should have:
- Ball color is the color of player's chest node.
- The player can jump, but not as high as normal.

Drama / Skorpion - "Everyone on this forum is an starfish!"
« on: November 08, 2011, 02:05:37 PM »
Skorpion has lately gone around preaching how everyone on this forum is just looking for reasons to stuff all over other members. He's practically a white knight in the way that he blindly defends idiots just because some "internet boolies shat on him!!"

Note the self-declared "Askin' for it" badge on his profile.

Another person shat upon.
Damn you all. Damn you all to hell.

God damn. You people nit-pick just for a reason to stuff on him.

Hey guys! I have a different opinion!
stuffstorm inbound

To be honest, I support Hrvatski.

He wants to know why Ephi, of all people, hasn't been drama'd yet.

This is why I hate you handicaps.
Someone acts like an arsehole a few times and you celebrate when they get banned.
Let's all celebrate when you get banned.

No, after looking at his posts and seeing that "chick in a bikini with cake" .gif, I feel the urge to fap to hentai. THANKS A LOT YOU USELESS starfish.

General Discussion / Planning Builds
« on: October 30, 2011, 05:50:00 PM »
Do you plan a build before you actually make it, or do you just let your creative juices flow?

Usually I'll plan a build in Minecraft on grid paper, but in Blockland there are too many brick sizes to actually draw something out well. I'm currently beginning a project and am trying to use grid paper, though.

How about you?

Off Topic / Classic Rock Megathread
« on: October 27, 2011, 06:14:37 PM »
Classic Rock

Classic Rock is a genre of rock that appeared in the 60's and ran into the late 80's, with a few artists still cranking out great rock tunes in the 90's. Classic Rock is known for catchy melodies, anti-war messages, and generally just awesome music. Here's a good "organizer" of the most prominent rock bands ever:

Really Good Songs

Some view classic rock (or rock in general) as just idiots banging on guitars *cough* FLUTTERSHY 2.0, GOT HIS ACCOUNT DELETED IN A CLASSIC ROCK THREAD FOR FLAMING THE GENRE *cough*! This, however, is far from true. Here's a list of songs that have a real meaning to them and include a great rythym.

Steppenwolf - Magic Carpet Ride
Cream - White Room
The Police - Synchronicity II
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
John Lennon - Imagine
Rush - Tom Sawyer
Led Zeppelin - The Ocean

Rock Instrumental Songs

These songs have no vocals, and are just long instrumental solos. They rock.

Van Halen - Eruption
Eric Johnson - Cliffs of Dover
Edgar Winter Group - Frankenstein
Focus - Hocus Pocus Okay, so this one has very brief vocals. But it's yodelling, so it doesn't count!

Really Good Albums

Many people don't really listen to albums in their entirety anymore, but they're still cool. Here are some great ones.

Pink Floyd - The Wall
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
Led Zeppelin - Houses of the Holy
Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin IV
Boston - Boston (Debut album)
The Doors - The Doors (Debut album)
Billy Idol - Vital Idol
AC/DC - Back in Black
Duran Duran - Decade
U2 - The Joshua Tree
The Rolling Stones - Hot Rocks 1964-1971
Styx - The Grand Illusion
Supertramp - Breakfast in America

User Favorites

If you list your top five bands and I see it, I'll post it here. Sorry, no solo artists.

Mega Bear:
1. Pink Floyd. I love this band so loving much, All their songs have a beautiful meaning, and many of said songs are amazingly catchy in tune. Their albums "The Wall" and "Wish You Were Here" are simply masterpieces.
2. Led Zeppelin - Quite possibly the best rock band to ever ever ever exist.
3. The Rolling Stones - What can I say? This band is a classic, with a ton of hits under their belt.
4. The Who - Also  a great band, they wrote the rock opera "Tommy" and have a good amount of awesome songs like "Eminence Front."
5. The Police - Not a stereotypical 80's rock band. Thanks to their innovative nature, this band became popular and wrote insanely good songs like "Roxanne" and "Every Breath You Take." Not to mention Synchronicity II, which made the awesome song list.

SlayerZ99:
Led Zeppelin
Boston
Styx
U2

Vegetarian Zombie:
5. KISS: A little creepy for me, but still epic.
4. Europe: These guys are win. That is all.
3. Bon Jovi
2. Queen: Famous, through and through, and always deliver with songs that have sweet beats and a strong meaning.
1. Van Halen: Some of the best songs I have heard, and the band that really brought me to Classic Rock.

Dorkdotdan:
Supertramp
Moody Blues
JH Experience
Boston
Styx

Games / Jurassic Park: Operation Gensis
« on: October 16, 2011, 02:51:09 PM »

Introduction
From Wikipedia:

Quote from:
Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis (known colloquially as JP:OG or JPOG) is a construction and management simulation video game for the PC, Xbox, and PlayStation 2 based on the novel and film series Jurassic Park. The main point of the game is to recreate Jurassic Park - building a 5 star theme park with dinosaurs, and turning John Hammond's dream into reality. In the park, the player builds paths, amenities for visitors such as, food and restrooms, as well as enclosures and attractions. One must also keep the park safe and secure. The park can be populated with up to sixty dinosaurs, with twenty-five different species available. The player can also add attractions similar to those seen in the film, such as the safari seen in the Jurassic Park film, and additional attractions like a balloon tour and several varieties of viewing platform.

Features

You basically just build your own Jurassic Park. It is all very customizable which is fun.--you can generate an island to your tastes, layout paths and different amenities for guests, add paddocks for dinosaurs like Tyrannosaurus, Velociraptor, Gallimimus, Brachiosaurus, etc. and add attractions to the pens.

Some attractions you can build right off the bat like the viewing vent (a little building built into the fence that allows visitors to get a closer look at dinosaurs), and the viewing platform (a tall tower that lets visitors see dinosaurs from above). Some attractions you have to research in order to build, like the safari adventure, balloon tour, and viewing dome.

What good are all these attractions without dinosaurs though? In JPOG you go through a neat process of acquiring dinosaurs and putting them in your park. First, you must assign fossil dig teams to different sites, and they will begin digging up fossils, amber, and gems that can be sold to add to your park fund. After that, you can either sell or extract DNA from the fossils and amber, which is then used to create dinosaurs. The more DNA, the longer a dinosaur lives.

What kind of dinosaurs are there for creation? The most recognizable from the films and novels, of course, but a few that are only mentioned in the books. Tyrannosaurus, Spinosaurus, Parasauralophus, Velociraptor, Brachiosaurus, Camarasaurus, Edmontosaurus, Triceratops, Stegosaurus, Kentrosaurus, and more! Each dinosaur has a star rating, and the higher the star rating the dinosaur has, the more visitors it will attract. The Torosaurus, for instance, has a low star rating--only two or three stars. The T. Rex however has a five star rating, meaning if you have one in your park, you'll get a lot of visitors!

Not only are you able to create a park, but there are other gamemodes as well! You can do exercises and missions, which are challenge-like games in which you take a land cruiser out for a photo safari, rebuild a ruined park, rescue John Hammond, or recreate Isla Nublar. If you complete all missions and exercises, you unlock a new gamemode called "Site B" which allows you to create an island, then populate it with as many dinosaurs you want free of charge!

Games / Your Top 10 Games
« on: October 07, 2011, 06:46:15 PM »
Fun idea for a thread I had. List your top 10 favorite games.

1. Minecraft.
2. Blockland.
3. The Sims 3.
4. Battlefield 2.
5. Zoo Tycoon 2.
6. GMod.
7. Civilization 5.
8. Halo PC (Custom Edition too).
9. Team Fortress 2.
10. Powder Toy.

Combat Arms would have made the list if it was the same as it was a year and a half ago. Oh, and Spore if it was less of a kiddy game. So much nostalgia in Spore.

In my new map, all the terrain textures are replaced with default ones. My textures are named "grass.jpg" "rock00.jpg" "rock01.jpg" and "rock02.jpg" yet for some reason they don't work. Anybody know why this is? I'm also not seeing any erros in the console, but I'll upload it anyhow.

These are the textures.
