Thats because the hookshot was modded so you have to hit a brick with the hookshot wand to make it hookable. Also its a really old mod. I'd just wait until someone makes a good double clawshot.

Space i think he would also like for you to make it so to get more ammo you pick up that same weapon again. Also if possible make it so you can only pick it up again if you pick it up from a different location.

I know i just hadn't really tried it in vehicle and since Monty said it... Ive tested though and it doesn't work. I have no idea why i even thought it could possibly work. The only way to fix driving is to have an alternate control scheme where any direction you turn you automatically recenter after doing so. This would also add  for the ability to turn by using a or d.

It is an add-ons but wasn't released on the forums. So if you want it then you have to Search for brick traps, don't download it just click "download from spacemods" then when your at space mods but, instead of downloading it bookmark the page. Then click wrench events, download it and install it. If you need help on installing it theres a tutorial on the page.
