Since the other topic is too old, I might as well link to it, and we can discuss it here.

Have to go to school in a few minutes, so I'll update this thread later, but just wanted to show you all what was released yesterday on Steam.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/207610/

If you're a fan of the Walking Dead comics or show, I'm going to guess you'll want this game. Not quite sure about the entire thing yet, but seems pretty cool.

Well Episode 2 came out Friday, and I just beat it. It was amazing. If you are a fan of the comics, maybe even the show, and you liked the first episode or were on the fence about it - get this. I cannot describe how amazing the second episode was, and I don't want to spoil too much. So if you've already beaten the first episode, I implore you go ahead and buy the second one.

Just.
Amazing.

Off Topic / BLS2OBJ - Anyone Care to Upload it?
« on: May 26, 2012, 08:04:13 PM »
Could someone upload BLS2OBJ for me? I seem to have deleted mine by accident,  Zack0's old site is gone, and I can't seem to find it on his new site.

Lucky me, Windows backed it up for me.

Creativity / Short Story: Zombies - "How original!"
« on: May 23, 2012, 09:59:15 PM »
I love to write. A while back, I had a dream surrounding the events of a zombie apocalypse. Some of it didn't make sense, there were a lot of plot holes. I decided to turn it into a story and fill in the blanks on the way. It would make good practice. I never got to finishing it, and I don't know when I will. So for now, I'm going to let you guys read what I have so far. It's not even half of what I planned to write, there is still a lot more to be done.

There is no definite back-story to how everything started. I was going to drop a few hints and clues throughout the story, but like I said - it's not finished so there is nothing yet.

Off Topic / PrankOwl - "You called me!"
« on: May 21, 2012, 10:07:03 PM »
Saw this on 4chan, it's like a generator for laughs. It's basically this prank call website with an "operator" tool. You enter two numbers, turn on record, enter how long (how many tokens) you want the call to last, and then hook the two numbers up. I recommend finding two numbers to a Chinese restaurants in your area and doing this, hilarity will ensue.

Only downside is that you are limited to three tokens (1 minute, 30 seconds) each day - so make the call worth it. Make sure you record the call and make it public, then post the link so we can listen to it!

Off Topic / Selling My Copy of Uncharted 2: GOTY
« on: April 08, 2012, 03:50:07 PM »
In a previous topic, I was trying to return this edition of the game simply because of my little OCD I wanted the normal version. I couldn't return it since I had removed the film cover. Beyond that I have not used the disc. The game comes with a bonus code card that you enter on PSN and you will get all the DLC for free, I have not scratched off that surface, revealing the code, so that comes with this too. Usually you would get this for $30, but I'm going to sell it at the price of the normal game at $20.

If you'd like to buy it on eBay, go here.

Off Topic / [UPDATE] Selling Uncharted 2 GOTY on Ebay
« on: March 29, 2012, 10:28:04 PM »
I recently went and bought a $30 game at Target. Being the massive friend I am, I want to return it because it's the Game of the Year version and the cover-art is different, I just want the normal version since it's cheaper too. Apparently you cannot return video games that have been opened. By opened, they mean just removing the plastic film that covers it. I have not used it, or used the DLC code that comes with it. Their site states I can exchange it though. Does anyone know if it's an even exchange, and that I'll just get a game equal to the price? I still have the receipt as well.

Off Topic / Old Cartoon Factory Music?
« on: March 27, 2012, 10:34:24 PM »
Does anyone remember that music that would play in some cartoons? Whenever something was being built or there was a factory there was that catchy tune. It was never used in just one show, multiple cartoons would use it. It was kind of the music version of the "Wilhelm Scream," so to say.

Does anyone have any idea what I'm talking about, or know what this little tune is called?

Games / Re-calibrating my HDTV on my PS3
« on: March 27, 2012, 06:58:46 PM »
Just recently got a PS3. I play on an HDTV with 720p, does smoothing smooth HD games too, and will it look better?

Alright, I should mention I have this triple component cable. It has a plug for an Xbox 360, Wii, and PS2/PS3. I have already calibrated my HDTV on my Xbox 360 using Windows Media Center and calibrating videos. Now that I have a PS3 and the videos/games are being displayed with a different console, should I need to re-calibrate my HDTV?
Does anyone know if the PS3 has a "Blue Filter" mode when playing DVDs? This option is available on some HDTVs (not mine though), and adds a blue filter over the screen making it easier to adjust the color and tint settings when calibrating your HDTV.

« on: March 19, 2012, 10:20:18 PM »

The Walking Dead is an upcoming episodic video game based on Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead graphic novel series. The game is under development by Telltale Games. The Walking Dead's release date was first planned to be set in the last months of 2011. But according to the time the production and development of the project are taking, the original release date was pulled off to middle or first part of the last quarter of 2012. Also it is rumored that it shall be releasing in April 2012.

Kirkman has said that, unlike typical zombie games such as Left 4 Dead, it will focus more on characterization and emotion than action.

Games / Any Stores in the US That Support Even Game Trades?
« on: February 29, 2012, 06:16:54 PM »
I'm looking to trade my Xbox 360 games, for a used copy of a PS3 game of the same name. I just called GameStop and they don't do this. Does anyone know any stores in the United States that would do this?

About Marble Hornets
Marble Hornets DVD Trailer
MH gains its name from Alex's film project, Marble Hornets. The early entries in the series are clips from the filming tapes used in creating the Marble Hornets film. Alex ended the project due to seeing Slenderman (known in MH as The Operator) frequently, and handed the tapes over to his friend and MH narrator Jay. Alex told Jay to burn the tapes, but, being a good friend, Jay did not and instead posted them on Youtube. Alex disappeared afterwards.
Early entries consisted of tapes from the Marble Hornets film and of those taken by Alex who obsessively recorded himself in order to capture Slenderman stalking him. Eventually, the entries turn to videos taken by Jay, catalouging his efforts to discover Alex's whereabouts and unravel the mystery surrounding The Operator.

Over time, Jay follows leads to old buildings, former homes, etc, but generally finds little to nothing. He begins to encounter two figures- Masky, the video series' Proxy, and The Operator itself, who seemingly work together to antagonize Jay and separate him from Alex. Jay continues into the mystery willingly placing himself in danger to find the problem.

Some videos recieve cryptic responses from a separate Youtube channel called totheark, which makes threats, predictions, and statements concerning the ongoings of the entries as they progress.

Off Topic / [SOLVED] Blender - Particles Won't Render
« on: February 26, 2012, 01:55:06 AM »
Alright, I've recently run into a problem. I have a fire emitter set up, works perfectly fine. But when I put it inside a model from BLS2OBJ, the particle is not rendered since it is emitting from inside an object (I think). Is there any way to have a particle still emit and render while it is inside an object?

Here is the .blend. See if you can figure out how to get the particles to render.

EDIT: Fixed it. Turns out I needed to turn off my object's material transparency, just in case you were wondering.

Games / Any scary mods that only need Half-Life 2?
« on: February 25, 2012, 06:25:21 PM »
It seems most mods either need HL2 and it's episodes, or HL1. The only scary mod I have found is Underhell, but that is incomplete.

Any scary mods like Nightmare House 2 or anything similar that only require Half-Life 2?
