I knew someone was going to say Brock. I don't find his character very...believable? Also he is made up of empty threats and fake scares. It's just one guy and his one or two "body guards." Something that the survivors shouldn't even be worried about.

Abram isn't necessarily the antagonist. We haven't really had a true antagonist in the role-play yet.

"Roxanne learns as to why Abram has not been around to care for her during her pregnancy."

Abram Terger is dying.

No.
Zombies would break, and dedicated minigames scripts are pretty damn stuffty.
Except the one in slayer. That one is good

We are using Slayer. Zombies still break.

Yeah, what I'm saying is, can't you just go on, change the preferences and disable the password, then leave if you want? Maybe periodically checking to see how things are going?

Just pretend this is like any other non-dedicated server and a Super Admin needs to be on for it to be open.

Server is open!

Yeah host preaz

Does an admin even have to be on every second? I mean I get why it's better, but the worst that could happen is some noob joins and rdms, then we just troll him until he leaves, or we contact an admin and they ban him...

See, the thing is - when Bluzone was always hosted it was Knaz. So of course an admin was always present. Since he is all the way in Australia, and his connection is bad - the server lags. But Lugnut is lending us his dedicated server so the connection is better.

Just think of it as a normal server where when the password is enabled, it's closed - and when the password is disabled, it's opened.

But it's the weekend, and starting Monday I'm on summer vacation. If any regulars are looking to join, I'll open soon.

Blockland: Sandbox
Minecraft: Sandbox
...
GTA: Action Shooter
Tetris: Arcade

Yes they are both sandbox games, but very different in terms of gameplay. Minecraft is more of a survival and creative whereas in Blockland you can literally do whatever you want.

General Discussion / Re: What motivates you to build?

All I want to do is build.
But I'm not good at building.

Oh god, help me.

How the forget is this kind of thing turned into a fad?
This stuff needs to be bannable. It helps sift out the handicaps in this place.

Minecraft is a far more sucessful game with a bigger community and a much better modding community.
The graphics aren't stuff, thats how are are meant to be. Thats the art design. Pixels.
Probably the only perk of playing blockland I can think of is that it can't really be hacked.
In Blockland when you get attacked its no big deal.
On Minecraft you loving panic as you will lose your stuff.
Combat is pretty good for a game like this.
Nothing wrong with the controls. Millions of people use them fine.
You don't need any more mobs than there already is.
Weapons are swords and bows. There a mods if you want more.

You are just acting ignorant. You haven't justified your opinion. Saying that your opinion is better without actually proving any of it isn't justifying it.

What's next? Are you going to compare Tetris and Grand Theft Auto?

Lolz, no because everyone he kills has done something bad. Those are the people who would be imprisoned.
You're right though. I think if we just had the discussion on what to do with him, while pointing guns at him, would be much more intense. That way he could give his own input, attempt to escape, etc.
Regardless, my point is that we need to start taking punishment of people seriously. It's unrealistic and boring if we don't.

I explained how things have - and hopefully will be more often in the future - been taken care of seriously. It's just that we haven't had any big threats recently. I'm guessing you got this idea because of last night. It's obvious the survivors don't see that as a big threat and aren't dealing with it as intensely as you would hope to be. They just don't think it's that big of a deal, they have dealt with worse.

Slightly similar to this

On a server, only admins can place zones called "Build" or "Anti-Build" zones. There is an RTB pref that determines whether or not other players can build outside of zones. If the option is ticked, all non-admins will not be able to build anything outside of zones. The only place they can build is inside a "Build" zone. If the option is not checked, non-admins can build wherever they like, excepting "Anti-Build" zones.

Basically it's like the v0002 Blockland where there were pre-determined spots to build.

I love the zone idea though the OP presents, and for what kind of server and stuff it could be used for.

spin-off or rip-off of zombies in the bluzone

Just a huge coincidence that all these other Zombie/Post Apocalyptic Role-plays are popping up around the same time as the Bluzone came back~

Yeah the death sentence would make for much deeper RP.

Theoretical situation*
Some guy gets drunk and shoots a fellow survivor, almost killing him. We lock the shooter up until we can think of what to do with him. Some say he should be killed because he's too dangerous and he'll only hurt the group if we let him live. Others say that it's not our right to kill him, and we should just permanently take alcohol away from him.

It's not like the discussion would last more than a few minutes, so the imprisoned person wouldn't just be sitting there, and we could let him talk too. I think it would make the RP deeper, and more realistic... I don't see any down side to it.
Also, if you don't want to have to sit in jail, don't do stupid things. I know that, for example, being drunk is RPing, but your character should recognize that it's too dangerous, and he could hurt someone. Otherwise you are a threat to the other survivors, and you should be dealt with.

Than let people deal with it. It's always dealt with. Sometimes people are kicked out. Sometimes they are escorted to another area and kept on watch. Then the "prisoner" can attempt to escape - and if he does escape, he isn't going to hang around the survivor base for obvious reasons. Your idea is too forced, players already can and will do this on their own.

You're just subtracting from the freedom of the role-play. You want people to actually be locked in with no escape, just because of their character. That could get boring very quick, and they would most likely leave. If they don't leave, said player will decide they don't want that to happen again - so their character will have a sudden change in personality, which is very unrealistic, considering realism is what you're aiming for.

All in all, this is already possible. Players can already do this, and it has been done before. I should know, I was tied up with some spare rope before and interrogated before my friend foolishly let me go to the bathroom alone and untie my hands - whereas I untied my feet, knocked him out and ran away to the Wild Territory. This role-play is controlled by the players. If they want to, they will take someone to another location and keep an eye on them. It's just that most players recently like to deal with things upfront and not delay it. We don't need to actually lock them in a building.
