So why did you create this topic? If badspot doesn't actually give two forgets for AoT, why would he make any attempt to remove the board? It just seems like this poll has no depth or no conclusion to it. It hinges on the sole hope that Badspot might just notice this, and then the odds are pretty forgeted up when you begin to consider the fact that he doesn't care either way if the board exists. So really, no argument will affect him at all. Pro or Con, it all depends on Badspot's decision. So you know what that means:

This thread is useless.

2 Reasons:
To bring attention to the issue since it has been ignored for so long, and to see what people think. Polls relating to opinions that we know might not ever affect anything are created all the time.

Ipquarx is making a bit more sense than you, joe411. As long as AoT still has its servers up, somebody is bound to play it. And that gives all the reason to keep the board in place, as that one person may want to, say, ask a question about the game, and their post will fit nowhere except the AoT board. In this case, majority won't work. It's entirely dependant on the players of AoT. And yes, they hardly ever play. But they're still there. You can't just omit the fact that AoT is still a game, and still exists.

You don't need spam filled forums to play an old game.

I know the game still exists, but discussion doesn't. It's not entirely worth it just to keep a board open that's going to get so much stuff flung at it just because of the small, unreasonable, and absolutely minuscule chance that someday, somebody, might have a question to ask. Well, if that happens somehow, they can ask it in the Games board. If anything, it would be more useful to have an AOT thread there anyway, considering it's lack of popularity.

Good job contradicting yourself, saying there's "basically nothing talking about" and then citing your reason of locking as being "spam preventing people from talking about it." According to you, there's nothing to talk about.

I'm not saying it's preventing relevant discussion. I'm saying that the relevant discussion died out and spam came in to take it's place. Because of this, there's no point in keeping it open.

And then not only ignoring the rest of my post, but even ignoring the first two sentences of the part you quoted. I'll post it again here for you to see.

I ignored it because it's obvious Badspot doesn't give a stuff any more. I never said my poll is going to force Badspot's decision to lock it or not, all the poll is doing it measuring the varying opinions. I know fully well that Badspot has the final say.

You cannot and will not know who plays the game and when unless you are on the server 24/7. What you should be arguing, if you really think people play it that rarely, is that the game servers themselves should be shut down along with the boards. I have a feeling that the latter won't be happening until the former also happens, since this is ultimately Badspot's choice.

The difference between the boards and the game itself is that the boards are filled with spam, and the game is not. If anything, the game is filled with absolutely nothing. I know that I don't have absolute knowledge on who plays the game, but the lack of relevant topics made withing the past year shows how much popularity it has. Like I said before, the boards are not required to play the game. I would just like them locked because they aren't even containing posts about the game anymore. If the game suddenly had a popularity spike, and all of the spam was removed (therefore actually relevant discussion that is made in recent times), this wouldn't be an issue. It's clear that there is no way that's happening though, so there is no point in keeping them open.

On top of that, if anyone does decide to play it, this is a place where they can potentially discuss it. It is possible to have a rational discussion with little to no spam, you just gotta find something to talk about. Overall, the board isn't any actual detriment to the forum overall so there's no real reason to delete it.

The problem is that pretty much no one plays it anymore and there is basically nothing to talk about. Any "rational" discussion quickly turns to stuff.

This is more of a matter of locking a spam filled forum than it is preventing people from talking about an old game.

If you ignore spam, it disappears for you. Ignorance is bliss.

That's not how it works. It's still there. It's still wasting space on the website and is still adding nothing of value. Ignoring won't make it go away. That's like saying if a problematic user comes back, he shouldn't be banned. Instead, we should all pretend that he doesn't exist and let him ruin the website. It wouldn't matter because we ignore him, right?

Yes, 3 people play it. Once every few years. And they don't really post anything about the game anyway.

Just because the board has a few spammy topic and may be 39% spam, doesn't make it automatically 'okay' to completely obliterate it.

Pretty much every single post made within the past few years are complete spam.
It's clear the few people who play it don't care enough to post about it.
Besides, if you really want to play it, you don't need a forum filled with spam to do so.
