Off Topic / Favorite type of train anyone?

Okay, so I'm running a survey to see that, if I do open up a small passenger railroad in the future, which type of train would general people prefer. I have no idea how to paste pictures into forum posts (because ctrl+v doesn't work) so here are the links.

Off Topic / Interesting Experiment: How much power can a gallon of gas generate vs a battery

Hey, there. Been a while since I've been on the forums, so I decided to post this useless thread. I did a little experiment a few weekends ago, seeing how much mechanical energy a gallon of gas could generate versus a gallon of a high-density battery.

I think the gallon of gas generated 35 kWh and the battery generated like 1.5 kWh per gallon, and I'm just like,

anyways, if you make the battery big enough by ripping the engine out of any average machine as well as the gas tank, the battery will typically produce more energy on full charge than its standard gas tank.

Off Topic / Boredom Topic: How practical would it be to put a giant battery in a GE Genesis?

Ah, hello, everyone. Yes, I know I've been away for a while and a few of you may know me on Blockland, but I was wondering how practical would it be to make a P42E: An electric version of the locomotive widely used by Amtrak, VIA Rail, and the Metro-North Railroad, as well as the P40DC/AC (Whatever it was) on the NJ Transit lines.

I was thinking about this because I was explaining my business model for my future company and she started talking to me about how I need to be a heavy investor in "Green Energy," such as Nuclear, Wind, Solar, and Geothermal Energy, because there will be no oil left on Earth in 100 years or less, and no mineable copper either by 2050.

So, I realized how impractical it would be to install a third rail or overhead catenaries along my first passenger line, and thought, why not put a battery in the thing? They can make INDUSTRIAL size batteries, and they can put them in cars, so why didn't the PRR think of this, along with all the other people? Rail travel could not only transport huge quantities of people and/or freight, but with this, it could also be fast and green!

Since my company doesn't exist yet, unlike BNSF or Union Pacific, I wouldn't have to go through a huge makeover of every maintenance shop I own. However, saying that I'm probably gonna start using the NCDOT one in Raleigh, maybe I would have to do a minor makeover.

What do you guys think about this?

Help / No one can join my server! Please help!

According to my console, no one can join my server! Every time someone tries to join my server, my console just responds with an "Authentication Failed for [Xname]." Does anyone know how to fix this? I have port forwarded already, so that cannot be the problem.

Also, I have a strange feeling that RTB has to do with this...

Modification Help / How do you package OGG music files?

Ok, world. I have made the OGG files, in the lowest quality like it said in the music section, and dropped them in my music folder, the one in the add-ons folder. What is the problem? They won't show up on the list of add-ons. Do you have to have it approved by Badspot or someone first? Please help!

Hello, there, Blockland. I have come to the conclusion that Blockland needs another train add-on. The Box Train add-on is only an O.K. add-on, but is still quite mediocre to most people's needs. I would seriously like to have a Genesis locomotive as one of the first trains. Look it up on Google and you'll see it. It's one of the most modern diesel locomotives out there. I would be super appreciative if someone with skills made this add-on as well, such as phydeoux or someone with much experience in making vehicles. I would contact GSF, but now that he's gone...

Point at hand: Read this and please make a train add-on that is quieter, more realistic and modern, and overall better than the Box Train.

Help / Help! My RTB Broke!

I was trying to set my RTB button to another button, so I chose the START button (The one with the WINDOWS symbol) and now, all it does is open the start menu on the computer and doesn't open RTB! Is there a restart RTB option that can return it to default? Please help!

Hey, world. It's Alaska here with a rad idea for an smg. I wanted to show you how awesome it is so you guys could get a look at it and maybe develop a version for blockland. Check it.

P.S. I would appreciate it if you named it "SV-SMG" which is it's irl name
