Celebrity/video game character names aren't considered serious roleplay names. While they are real names, yes, I don't want to bump into a James Bond while trying to avoid a Gordon Freeman who is introducing me to Alfred Hitchrooster.

Also, the server is strict: that's no secret. The reason why it's so big is because there's really nothing else to sit it against. I've heard nothing but praise from Comr4de's server, but I've never gotten the chance to play. The Bluzone seems to run perfectly fine in its current method of administration, even though it could be much better. Idiots are kept out while a small dedicated following stay in- and that's how it should be.

The issue is just sorting between idiots and people who didn't quite understand. While it's fun to have a joke, it's not fun to see 'Blockhead is now known as Ben Dover.' clog up the chat while trying to roleplay, and it takes up even more chat space when admins need to tell people to use an appropriate name.

The Bluzone just isn't for some people, and I'm not trying to force it down anyone's thtoats. While I'd agree it does seem a bit like that in a couple instances, I don't agree in generalising the server based on a handful of personal opinions.

We'll do nothing but disagree over the same things from here on, and I don't really feel like talking in circles for too much longer.

Bottom line is, an admin messed up and banned some players over a mis-understanding. Those players appealed their ban and are now un-banned. Everything beyond that just seems to be people taking cheap shots at a server they don't like.

I couldn't have said it better, accept the last part. The thing is, Ike didn't mess up. These goons are no different than the hundreds of other people banned for abuse of the /setname function.
They were warned in the welcome message
They were personally warned repeatedly
They used multiple silly names, not just one and done, so they were obviously richarding around.

Jesus Christ people. Use a name of a character that would actually be in this world. Roger Smith. Thomas Johnson. Not loving richard Licker. No one laughs when you set your name to something stupid. It's mentioned in the rules when you spawn, and it should technically be you last warnings. The admins are being extremely nice when they give you extra warning. The problem with the other names (Jass) is that they kept changing them to things like Hugh Jass, and Fran Fap or something. If you can't read and follow the rules or if you purposefully break them to try to look funny, it's perfectly fair to judge that you're an incompetent fool. How hard is it to understand how annoying it is to have someone set their name to something stupid every 10 minutes? If you're doing it on purpose, you're an idiot. If you didn't read the rules, you're an idiot. If you're an idiot, no one should have to deal with you. That is good administrating. Preventing serious, competent players from having a crappy time. Grow up and get real fools. Quit bitching about being bitches.

I just read Pixel's drama thread...... They shouldn't have been unbanned... I don't want to make it a problem again because it's already been resolved, but... I was there at the time. These fools used multiple stupid names (Hugh Jass, Fran Fap) and they were warned at least three times before they were banned. They got more warning than most people. I feel like the unbanning is just fueling their complaining, and showing others that if they complain about their ban, they'll get unbanned. It's best to ignore these people. I'm not trying to give you guys administration lessons, just a reminder. If this post annoys you, sorry... I'm just trying to defend Ike as well as the administrating team of the server, which is no doubt one of the best out there.

I just wish everyone who joined the server read the recent posts on this thread first... Or maybe just that the rules were more in depth. I can't complain though, the gameplay that this server has created is beyond impressive.

Power role-playing is bad, but so is ignoring things that happen around you. If someone chops your hand off for no significant reason, then yeah, I can see you wanting to 'void' that, and doing so. But if you flee from a man who you previously shot, and he clearly shoots you with a few SMG rounds as you exit the bar, don't keep running all the way to the loving pipe line... Stop, and if you really don't want your character to die in the situation, plea for forgiveness, swear to leave the camp, offer some sort of compensation... Another way you can avoid your character's death is to refrain from shooting people for lame reasons.

The thing I hate most about bad RPers, is when you shoot them, and they ignore the fact that a bullet just went right through their brain, and act like their bullets are far more significant and they continue to shoot at you. PEOPLE. If you get shot... DON'T loving KEEP SHOOTING WHOEVER SHOT YOU UNTIL THEY'RE DOWNED... CHRIST. In most 'gunfights' there's ONE shot fired: The shot that hits a player. You NEVER have to shoot anyone twice, and you should NEVER shoot anyone when you're down, without delay and further RP, at least. Sometimes there's more fire before-hand, but once someone's hit, the gunfight's over.

This is one of the biggest signs of bad RPing on this server for me. If you want people to see you as a good RPer, and you don't want to get banned. Don't make the mistakes mentioned above.

Anyway, besides the relatively large number of role-play morons, it was fun today. Pip was shot (for the 7th time?) but he got better and he kicked major ass in the shootout. Once Gammaton is ready, his story will finally advance.

gonna request from now on that admins kick instead of ban players for misusing /setname just to avoid dramas.

Ban for mis-using it if they just get really silly and/or offensive.

Remember to warn them, too.

Ease up on the trigger, guys.

Also, some admins don't moniter the thread- if you see them in-game spread the word.

I was there at the time, and the bans were completely justified. There's a warning in the welcome message, and Ike and I both warned them an additional 3 or 4 times. They were trying to be funny with their names by setting them to "Seymour Bust" and "Hugh Jass"
People have been banned for less... Ike's doing a great job.

Kniaz, I have two ideas for prints.
1. leglize it today (pot leaf)
2. a parody of oprah magazine with dr. bloz saying the infection can be cured with homeopathy

I like these ideas...
Also there should be a sign that looks like a piece of paper written on with a marker or something, and it says
